Dont understand this mindset at all. If a player is available to improve the squad and he ultimately joins, who cares what the club is forking out. It's not our money.

Currently Pjanic isn't better than Ndombele or Lo Celso. He wouldn't be guaranteed starter so paying >200k for backup player wouldn't be smart.

Completely disagree. The club operated such that it doesn’t have a magic money tree: every pound it spends on a shit transfer is a pound it doesn’t later have to spend on a good transfer

No, he’s been at Barcelona less than a year. Arthur went to Juventus for €72m and has only played 3 more games than Pjanić.

Barcelona were very poor by their standards last season and often made bizarre team selections. The club is in disarray. Pjanić however is still a very good player. You don’t pay circa £50m for someone with a successful track record only for them to turn to poop in 9 months. Barca have over a €1bn debt and need to get players off their books and quickly.
