If we sell Modric, then we are a patheitc pathetic club, who settle for mid table status.

He is a brilliant footballer.

This is our problem. Every time someone new comes in, we buy completely new players. We don't let players grow and get used to each other -there's ALWAYS a settling in period. This has got to stop.

Can you imagine if he had an outlet on the other side as well? The way he linked up with Lennon was great and I really think he will be a massive part of our team next year.

Last thing we need is a massive change of personnel again, just a few good additions and letting go some of the players that Harry doesn't really rate.

News of the Screws also claimed:

And with Redknapp's preferred attacking pairing likely to be Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe, it is difficult to see how Modric can fit into the system in the long term.

If this is the supposed reason for 'Arry being prepared to sell Modric, then it's complete nuts.

Only a very few people who've seen Keane & Defoe play together think they're a viable partnership. My belief is that against most Premiership defences, they're not a good partnership, and we should only have bought one of them back in January.

With Redknapp making Keane captain-elect, then it's Defoe who'll be spending most time on the bench once he's fit again.

If we're going to sell anyone to accommodate all those "little" players that 'Arry frets about, then logically, we should sell Defoe, not Modric.

Personally, I'd keep all three.

Think about it tho, no europe means no big names players, so this might be a rumour now but could be reality this summer.

Playing in Europe means european players and big names coming to the club, without europe your no one, and i see the likes of Modric, Pavly, or even Lennon going this summer, not a happy thought.

Ahhhhhh you hit the nail on the head it is bull I think the reporter must be a Man U fan, hence writing the story today

The date on the article is 28/02/2009

however in the article it does say that Modric will play in the final 'today'

It definitely wasn't written after the final.

I hope this turns out to be bollocks and modric is exactly the player we need. his work ethos is great, he never stops moving, isn't afraid to go after the ball and makes some great passes.
I would be gutted if we lose him.

Modric is on a 6 year contract and unless he just demanded to leave, which is unlikely because that's not his style plus he has Corluka, or we got offered like 50 million or something, there's no chance we sell him this summer.

HR has always said he needs Modric in his team so why you fools are believing this I'll never know.

The only way Modric is leaving in the summer is if he demands a transfer (Berba style) and someone is willing to pay £25m+

I have a feeling United well be after him when Scholes close it a day.

Chuba, the story says that Harry wants him out not that he wants to go so don't worry it's a rubbish story.

Don't worry, I had a word.

I don't think we'll have to worry about it to be honest. Redknapp would have to be in charge in the summer to make a clear out.
