Even when he was out with that lengthy injury several years ago (it now seems), when we had only seen him in a Spurs shirt for a few months, and some where saying he was rubbish and we should loan/sell him, I stated my opinion that he was a very good player.

You were hardly alone, there were others, too.

SP never for once suggested that, but you have to accept that based on quite a lot of knee jerkers on this forum he seems to be our no scape goat. He always getting coments like "need to concentrate" etc. It has been proven that he has the greatest number of interceptions in the EPL and you dont do that by having lapses of concentration. They just cannot handle his style which is being unrushed or hassled, skillfull and damn right clever most of the time. Probably he is too good for us the ungrateful.

Turns out that in the last three years and out of the best regarded LB's in the premier League, BAE has made the second most tackles.
