Walker and Townsend are really getting it from the fans this window. Personally I think MS is over rated and a lot of our fans massively under rate our own players.

He, or a similar player, is absolutely key for me.

Suddenly our defence looks better, our midfield is stronger and our whole team is more cohesive.

Positive news from Grey Fox. A player of this ilk is vital for us. That Schneiderlin also knows the manager and the PL inside out is a massive bonus. If we could wrap this up before preseason starts it would be incredible work from the transfer team.

But this is Spurs so I expected MS to stall and wait for better offers...

Ya we can feel cool for matching the offer, but in reality he will not choose us. I hope I'm wrong. But I'm not

Wimmer, Trippier, two low key but tidy bits of business.
A DM out of Schneiderlin or Kramer (seems the next favourite with most), a WF (again, Martial seems top of the list) then an added CF, not a big name, just a player with some technique, and a work ethic who'll be able to remove some of the burden from Kane from time to time, without any ego hissy fits.
Maybe add a young player or two, as Greyfox suggests our scouts are looking, like a keeper if we don't feel any of our academy boys are up to replacing Brad. Maybe a young CF too, as we're not stacked.

Offload all the fringe players, clear the squad down to wanted players and some talented youngsters, and that would be a good summer for me.

Ideally, Wimmer, Trippier, Scheniderlin and Martial. For the striker, Hernandez, always good for some impact? Or Ferrerya who was on loan at Newcastle may be worth a punt on a loan to buy option. Poor season for him this last year, but historically talented, still young, and played well in tandem with Lamela previously.
Maybe a young option as a bonus like Druissi who we were previously linked with, capable of playing AM/WF/no10. Ferrerya and Druissi I include, based very vaguely on the ITK late last week about an Argentinian possibly joining.

Sell Chiriches, Kaboul, Paulinho, Capoue, Holtby, Lennon, Soldado and Adebayor. Maybe even allow Stambouli or Demebele to go as part of the Scheniderlin deal.

Lloris, Vorm, an other
Walker, Trippier, Yedlin
Rose, Davies
Dier, Fazio
Vertonghen, Wimmer
Schneiderlin, Bentaleb, Stambouli?
Mason, Carroll
Lamela, Townsend
Eriksen, Pritchard
Chadli, Martial, Druissi
Kane, Hernandez/Ferreryra

Velkjovic given a shot as 5th choice CB also able to cover DM. Winks and Alli able to offer depth at CM. Onomah AM/WF.

I agree about Walker, but less so with Townsend.

My issue with your post is more with the second line, I don't think Townsend is under-rated at all, in fact, I do rate him a lot, but not for us. I've said that he'll probably tear it up for whatever club he goes to if we sell him, and I won't cry about it, because I know he's still a good player. But good players don't always play the way the manager wants, so the only option is to sell them.

If he plays for a smaller team, who defend deep and look to hit on the counter he will be more effective. He likes and needs space to run into, and rarely has that for us, particularly at home when teams sit back.

Is also the high line. He's not a high line, possession-focused style player. There's just no room for him to build momentum, and he's not the type to pass his way through others into the reduced spaces which do exist.

Valuable player though when the situation is tight late game and we need a result.

I think the only reason we met the price is so we can force a decision - and not let it drag out. If Schneiderlin does not want to be here, I think we will move on. Otherwise, we would not be in any rush to meet Southampton's price.

Yes he's a Spurs fan, but when do you draw the line and say it's time to move on? He's going on 25 now and he's never established himself as a regular in the first team despite many chances. Shouldnt we now, for our benefit and the benefit of Andros himself let him go and play somewhere, or do we keep him on our bench forever because he's a Spurs fan?

Never.

If it was up to me I wouldn't of even let Ledley retire.

I would also clone Kane.

Which is why he had an odd bad game for England the other night. England actually bossed the game, and Slovenia couldn't get out their own half. Andros had no space to run into.

Well that's a bit selfish on your part TBH, you're not taking the good of Andros's career into mind. Agree with the clone Kane part though.

I don't really rate Townsend that much tbh.

People go waaaaaay over the top in slagging him off though. Like a lot of our players, he's had a poor season. So fucking what, and even though my earlier posts were jokes the fact he ,and his family, are spurs fans should count for something

I feel the same, and if he does go I will be feeling sad. Just think keeping him another year is just prolonging the inevitable though.
