Louis van Gaal is hoping to lure Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton, but if that move breaks down then Manchester United could turn their attention to Clasie, who wants to leave Feyenoord this summer. VI are reporting that the Premier League giants intensively scouted the midfielder last season, while Van Gaal worked closely with him during his time as Netherlands boss.

Apart from Manchester United, Premier League clubs Southampton, Aston Villa and Sunderland, Serie A side’s Roma and Fiorentina, and Bundesliga side Schalke are all interested in the 24-year-old. Schalke are the only club to have submitted a bid, but that was rejected by Feyenoord.

Clasie is under contract until 2018 in Rotterdam, and would command a fee between €9-12 million.

I think all he said was that he is in no rush as summer is only just starting and he wants to talk to the Bayern chairman first. Bayern have come out today and said they can't rule out him leaving.
