So yesterday we were all miserable because he was going to Arsenal, today he's not going to Arsenal but are we happy? No of course not, because today he's going to Man Utd, oh woe woe and thrice woe.

What do you think they bought all the land with?

Ok, by not putting any money in, I meant not financing the majority of the project. The groundwork and to get the planning and viability and whatnot off the ground, sure.

My point is that if ENIC/Lewis paid for the stadium, it wouldn't free up loads of money for THFC to spend on transfers. We barely break even most years and our wage bill is currently close to the maximum sustainable level as a percentage of income.

Only last year Joe put in £50m to build the stadium. We have paid off £60m for the training ground, over £100m on the stadium and enabling costs and have wiped out our debt.

But this has nothing to do with Morgan.

That's not the club spending anything though is it, which is entirely my point. ENIC funding the stadium would not free up money for THFC to spend loads on players and comply with FFP.

Given that for each of the last 4 seasons we have ended up making a profit on our transfer business and over the last 5 season are in the bottom 2 spenders in the premier league ... I would suggest that isn't necessarily true

One, it doesn't matter what we make a profit on in terms of 'player trading'. Our wage bill has been pretty much stretched to maximum.

Adebayor may only be a £5m transfer fee, for example, but add in agent fees, wages and compensation for his City contract, it was one of the most expensive deals this club has ever done in our history.

For what it is worth James Ducker of the Times (who the United folks seem to think is usually on the mark) is saying that they have lodged a £32m offer for Ramos and are in the "pole position to sign Morgan Schneiderlin"

Hmm. Interesting. I can see him fitting in at O/T. In fact he could be one of the key players they need to recruit, and of course, they are Champions League, which sadly, we are not (yet).

Of course, if by some weird reason we could persuade him to come here, he'd be a sensational addition to the squad, but let's face the truth, it's just not going to happen, is it.

The only hope I hold with regards to Utd is their interest in Schweinsteiger, surely if they have encouragement on that one then they will cool on Schneiderlin?

If MS as he says is days away from finalising his move, then if it isn't us - as one presumes as we'd surely have heard if we were that close - then I'm certain Spurs have long since moved on from this deal.

I don't know...there's certainly going to be a few on here still talking about even after he's played a season in a red shirt...but yes...hopefully the club know when to cut their losses and maybe already have...

Unless Utd are doing the Levy trick to try and put us pressure for Loris. We sell them Hugo and they pull out of a MS deal
who is apparently Poch's no1 target

I'm waiting for the 'Poch is happy with the existing squad' speech... followed by 2 crappy panic buys when get thrashed by Utd.

Poch believes in the young players etc etc- didn't get top target so decide to keep the existing squad

Have a feeling there is an awful lot of doom and gloom heading our way in the next week, cue Levy out etc.
