id like to see the smooth twat build something, preferably from what weve got to offer, hes one of the luckiest (jammiest fuckers) people in the world if you think about it.

Like at Porto?

To win the CL with Porto is little short of miraculous!

He does have a bit of a soft spot for Spurs. When we beat Chelsea 2-1 he was full of praise for us (contrast with the way Wenger complains each time we beat them). he was in talks to join us before Porto went on the CL run, I think he respects our history, style, and way we conduct business, and Rob Beasley (I think its him) who has very good ties with Jose says he would consider joining us, amongst others.

Pros - we have a decent amount of money, good squad, London location.
Against - not hundreds of millions, chelsea rival, CL qualification?

Unlikely, but not impossible.

Jose would only take the Spurs job as a challenge to his ego, realistically there will be clubs which much deeper pockets and more realistic chances of immediate success than us.

If he views us as that last massive challenge, then we would be perfect as we already have the structure of a successful team - maybe his name and reputation is what we need to attract those 2-3 special talents.

I think people underestimate Jose. Once he leaves Madrid (which probably won't be that far off when you consider their coach turnaround) he would have done the mega rich clubs and will be, arguably, pretty rich himself. I think a greater challenge is what he wpould want and taking like us to the very top fits the bill IMO.

Even with Jose in charge we are not gonna attract the big superstar players because we simply cannot pay their wages.

I would love to see Jose come to Spurs but i simply dont think we are big enough for him. He and Real showed real class yesterday, Jose inviting Gazza to sit in the executive box with a note on the ticket to "the special one", his positive comments before and after the game and then Real playing Spurs goals against Arsenal on the big screens whilst the fans had to wait to be let out. All really nice touches, hopefully we are building a really strong relationshiop with the club and then can start giving us a few of their rejects like Kaka, Diarra, Benzema etc?? One can dream.

On another note I just want to echo a few comments that i don't hold any grudges with any player last night. Seeing Spurs in the CL has been a great experience this year, something i haven't experienced in my previous 25 years following the club so i have nothing but respect and thanks for the club and all the players for the entertainment. I hope all the fans there on Wednesday join me in singing out hearts out in thanks and lets hope we go out with a win

I would love to see Jose here and can not see any reason why he wouldnt want to come. It would be a great challenge for him to proove himself as a manager especially as we have the foundations for a very good team. However to persuade him Levy would need to grant him an open cheque book.

I disagree totally, i think Jose would indeed attract superstar players. However i dont think Levy has the balls to apoint him. I can only see him going to citeh anyway, with their money and all.

Reckon he'll end up at City. You can't blame him, it'll be like playing Football Manager with unlimited transfer funds.

JM said in his interview on Sky, shown before KO, that his next job after Madrid would definitely be in England. He also said the Madrid job was the biggest challenge in football. I wouldn't read too much into anything he says about us though. Wasn't he pretty scathing about us a few years back when we went to Stamford Bridge and parked the bus? Just because he's got no beef with us doesn't mean he likes us.

As a general point, I'm not sure a manager like him is all about the money. And he certianly doesn't give a fiddler's fuck what the fans think. If he becomes available his destination boils down to whether he wants to try to build something himself (i.e. Spurs) or have it handed to him (i.e. City). I doubt he would be daunted by taking over from Ferguson or Wenger either. IMO, if he becomes available there are VERY few clubs that wouldn't drop their current managers if they could get JM.

What do you disagree with?

We can't pay over £100,000 a week. Players aren't gonna take a drop in wages just to come and play under Mourinho.

Levy alagedly offered him the job 5 time when he left Chelsea.

The only factor that counts in our favour vs City and Utd is that Mourinho loves London. He has a house there and his family were settled nicely when he worked at Chelsea.

I don't know the city that well but I'm guessing Jose and his family wouldn't feel quite as at home in Manchester as they did in London.

I think one of the COYS ITK's said that Jose had a clause in his severance from Chelsea that he could not manage another Premiership club for 12 months so had to decline Levy

Indeed, but I was refering to st@rbug's assertion that Levy would not go after Jose.
