Because you cannot sell to rivals unless their valuation is way above what we believe is fair value. Losing out on a couple of mil is worth much more than strengthening a competitor.

We are a long term top 5 club pushing to be top 4. AVB's conceit and stubbornness cost us at least top 5 last season.
Dembele is an upper mid table player and not good enough for us.

I could see them having to sell someone like Pjanic or Strootman soon and Dembele would do well for them I think

Di Rossi is getting old but they do still have Keita too so unless they are selling one of the above too they probably won't want Dembele, I could certainly see Pjanic and or Strootman wanting a move to bigger things soon though

Unfortunately they are all our rivals and will be for some time. One outing in the CL does not mean we are in any different position than the teams around us. We are in the chasing pack and should not be strengthening those around us, thinking any different is just arrogant

The last 5 seasons we finished 4,5,4,5,6 so what you said is factually incorrect. Stating facts is not arrogant.

I wish I lived on your planet, as Chelsea, City, the scum and Utd are leagues ahead in terms of squad and resources from us at the moment. We are in a group of teams chasing them and that very definitely includes Everton, Liverpool and quite a few others.

You seem incapable of understanding the English language. We are a regular top 5 side and Southampton, Newcastle, West Ham and Everton aren't.

However you narrow down the criteria, at present, Everton, Southampton etc are more our rivals than City, Chelsea and arsenal.

And they've finished 8 ,7, 7, 6, 5. Certainly sounds like a team who we are in competition with especially considering theirs looks like an upward trend and ours a downward one.
