Dembele to Everton? Yes please. That will be because Barkley will probably have moved to City. Would Everton be strengthened by that? I personally don't think so.

I see ol' prawn sandwich square pants is throwing his toys around again.

Everton certainly are one of our rivals because they finished above us last season and are going to be scrapping against us, along with Saints, Liverpool and probably many others for top 4 this season with the way things are shaping up. City and Chelsea are likely going to pull away but everyone else is well and truly in the mix for 3rd and 4th so to suggest that we would easily sell a player to one of our rivals is, in my opinion, lunacy.

Dembele might not be playing well right now and might not be everyone's favourite player but he could conceivably make them a better team, so I don't see it happening.

Sell him to a club in Italy or Spain though......that could definitely happen.

He is a technically better player than Kane. If he could use his power and dribbling ability and run at opponents like Harry instead of pirouetting and crabbing he would be one of the first names on the sheet. He is too old for changing though, IMO. And recently he has been losing a few tackles. Add that to his injury record and he is a seller not a keeper.
If he was surely he'd be able to make simple passes from A-B without hoofing it into the crowd.

I still think that half season or so when Dembele and Sandro were our midfield duo we had one of the best pairings in the league. Unfortunately, Sandro's knee blew up and Dembele never really recovered from the hip injury to find the form and consistency required to be a regular.

Selling him on is probably best for all parties at this point. Bentaleb is looking just as good at a much younger age and we simply need to find players that meet needs rather than just storing a bunch of players who really don't offer enough.

Or passing it 2 yards behind the player he's aiming for.

Wish someone would tell him to aim 4 ahead instead, then he'd actually hit runners!

I really enjoyed seeing the tenacity and quick passing of Bentaleb and Mason against Everton and hope that's the kind of central midfielders we go with in future.

I think Stambouli, Capoue and to a lesser extent Paulinho fit that mould quite well also.

I just don't think Dembele is right for how we want to play. But just because he doesn't fit us does not mean he couldn't strengthen another side of similar ability.

Id rather he went abroad than to Everton but if they put in a big offer we'd have to consider it.

Watching him last night I wouldn't want him to go anywhere.
Why does he not perform, last his first 45 minutes last night, in every game?

The argument that we are strengthening our rivals by selling them Dembele is one I simply don't understand.

Q. Is he a first team regular and would his departure significantly hurt our prospects? A. No.
Q. Is it likely we could strengthen our 1st team with the money we get from his sale? A. We certainly have weaknesses so yes.
Q. Is it likely that Dembele will strengthen Everton more than if they spent that money elsewhere? A. Probably not.
Q. Is our ambition simply to finish above Everton in the league? A. I fucking hope not .
Q. Is it possible to stockpile all the slightly above average players in the premiership? A. Obviously not but we're giving it a damn good try.

It isn't Bale, Modric or Lloris we are talking about here, it's Dembele. The reason we got £80M for Bale and will only get around £10M for Dembele is that there are very few players of Bale's quality and an awful lot of Dembele's. In Bale's case it's a seller's market and in Dembele's it's a buyer's market. We'll be lucky to get £10M for a player who, while quite talented, doesn't fit the system we want to play and is surplus to requirements. If Everton offer £10M (or even £8M) I for one think we should snatch their hand off.

Yeah bye. Just don't care anymore. He'll go there and we'll be forced to watch a MotD analysis a few weeks later where he's great and Danny Murphy says we never should've sold him, just like we had with Hudd and Livermore.

So many still claims he was poor vs Besiktas.....

http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014...-tottenham-star-dembele-shines-in-new-posit/?

Moussa Dembele played in an attacking midfield role for Spurs, and was a bright spark in an average display from the side.

Having left Christian Eriksen at home, Tottenham needed a replacement for the Dane against Besiktas.

They turned to a player who once played in the position regularly for former club Fulham, and revelled at being switched into what is a 'new' role for him at Tottenham.

Moussa Dembele answered Mauricio Pochettino's request to play behind striker Roberto Soldado, and while he was unable to help engineer a goal for his side in the 1-0 loss, he showed plenty of bright touches.

It has been reported by various sources that Dembele is on list of players available for a January transfer, losing his place to Ryan Mason in central midfield, and rarely playing 90 minutes - either substituted early or brought off the bench late on.

Against Besiktas he was impressive in the number 10 role, making 91 touches, completing 89 per cent of his passes. He provided two goalscoring opportunities, and still managed to track back and make three tackles.

It may not be enough to dissuade Pochettino from a sale if a big offer comes in, but the extra string to his bow shows he is viable, temporary, alternative to Eriksen if Tottenham need him.

He probably knows he's in the shop window so decided to roll back the years and actually do something. He'll revert back to type because he's too old to change. Ferdinand pretty much spilled the beans last night and I thought he was bang on.

@MidlandsTHFC: Delph for Dembele being reported in Birmingham Mail. I suppose Delph can press. Decent player. Dembele not offering much currently #THFC

Would prefer we sell Dembele to fund a move for a significant upgrade, but if Delph is considered to be a good fit, will come cheap and could help fill out the squad numbers then maybe it makes sense.

I would just prefer we sell Dembele, Paulinho and a guy like Capoue to fund a move for a significant upgrade in midfield and maybe sign a younger talent with potential.

I'd happily take this deal if true if it meant more funds available to address striker, winger, and CB.

However, it surely couldn't be a straight swap. Delph is in the last year of his contract, and Dembele holds more worth anyway.
