Reminds me of that Harry Enfield character from Birmingham-"I am considerably richer than you!"

Not too fussed whether Dembele stays or goes but a big NO to Delph; Holtby is better than him. A lot of people also praising Bentaleb, I still can't see why. He doesnt pass forwards, almost seems incapable of doing so, and chooses the safe option of a player 10-15 yards away which tends to be a midfielder to the side or defender at the back. I would rather have Dembele in midfield

The problem with Delph is, he suits us slightly better than Dembele does, but is again never a player who can improve our first eleven significantly. Sell Dembele, save the cash, give Winks/ Onomah his place, when we saved enough: Buy a player like Schneiderlin.

I agree completely. I just think bringing on Delph will eventually turn into what we have currently: wondering why we brought on a player that is okay but not really enough to push us forward. I'd be much more willing to sit through a youth product being "okay" then a guy like Delph (or Dembele, Paulinho, etc.).

I like Delph and he would really suit the high intensity game. He's still pretty young, but I have a slight reservation with how well he uses the ball.

He's tenacious and gritty and he can drive forward with the ball to good affect to.

Honestly for the money we'd be talking I'd be quite happy to take him because he's definitely going to suit the high energy approach and he might be someone Pochettino can really improve and develop.

This. People keep banging on about levels of quality, when that's part of what's been the issue with our transfer policy the last few years. We've prioritized potentially top quality talents in lieu of addressing squad and system needs, and it's high time we shift back towards making more clever buys that would actually suit our style of play. Yes, I think we'd all prefer Cabaye, and many/most Schneiderlin. But seeing as those are unlikely, and we have other positions we need to address, I don't really see the problem with bringing in a player who works his nuts off for a team and is good in getting his time forward (although admittedly he isn't the best at pulling the strings), especially if we could get him for dirt cheap.

Dembele has contributed little to nothing to us in well over a year now, and even arguably nearly two years. It's also rather clear that Poch doesn't favor him, nor should he considering how incredibly slow Dembele has become. To my eyes, the suggestions of a degrading hip ligament problem look as if they hold serious salt.

As for Winks and Onomah, I'm sure we all want them integrated more. I'd like to see them integrated more higher up the pitch more though to press Eriksen and the other attacking midfielders. I don't think it's fair to ask them to fill a role in which we are very weak atm (transitioning to attack from deep), and I think it would be more conducive to allow them to step into the first team fold playing a position they can be allowed to play with more expression rather than immediate responsibility.

I agree with much of this.

From what I have seen of Delph. He would suit the high intensity, high pressing game that Poch favours but i'm not sure he passes the ball very well. Which ultimately would be a detriment to the system.

No thanks. Another waste of money that would be.

Delph is a below average footballer.

The key would be to get Dembele playing to his potential.

We will only improve if we add players who are better than those we already have not ones who are worse.

Delph has been better than Dembele for a good 2 years so I dont know how you come to that conclusion. If we're talking pure ability you may have a point but they're 2 different types of player, and on that logic we should have kept Taraabt.

Can delph play as a DMF? if so selling Capoue/Moose/Paulinho and keeping

Nabil/ Mason/Stambouli/Delph wouldn't be to bad. Also Nabil would be going to AFCON this jan/feb so we would need cover in the CM position.

Mason's still very rough around the edges too.

I rate Delph, he has a thankless job trying to pull the rest of the team along. I think he'd be a great signing for us, he's got plenty of energy, he's good in the tackle and strikes the ball really well too. I wanted him in the summer and I'm glad we're looking at bringing him in.

As for Dembele, he's had so many chances but we've never seen anything more than a glimmer of hope from him and with his injury record we're far better moving him on than persisting with him in the hope he'll someday become a useful player for us.

Nice work to get the ball to Andros for the assist for the Kane goal. Been doing OK since Sir Les outed him. Not as a gay-as a crab.

Dembele has two very good games behind him now, coming off the bench.
He'd look impressive in a Villa team as well.

The way he's looked recently I don't think he'll be for sale anymore. The only CMs that Poch seems to rate above him are Bentaleb, Mason (who's injury record is very dodgy), and Stambouli. Think we need to keep Dembele to rotate into that mix as we play through four competitions - Paulinho and Capoue should be off first.

I agree Capoue and paulinho should be and will be the two we actively try to sell In along with one of Bobby and Ade and possibly Vlad depending on incomings and the progress of dier

All 5 of them are good to go and throw in Naughton as well. Unfortunately it's unlikely. I'm not usually that lucky!
