The closer it gets to 1st Feb, the more likely loans (with a view to a permanent summer deal) will be.

If the loanee pays (some of) the wages, it could be attractive and free up a squad place. The only risk being if the loan doesn't work and player returns in the summer having alrady been 'replaced'.
And it goes without saying we need one of our targets in, not just someone to make up the numbers, otherwise we might as well stick with what we've got.

Is it me or are we seeing the same template used on an trial and error basis:

"Moyes is interested in signing [insert out of form spurs player] on loan"

Given that when he signed we had both Bentaleb and Livermore at the club, I don't understand why we bought him in the first place.

Honestly, I'm not AVB bashing, just an observation with the benefit of hindsight.

Well, B wasn't flavour of the month with AVB and perhaps L wasn't considered to be of the required AVB quality (which increasingly seems like they weren't given much credence unless they came in with a increasingly higher price tag).

Re Capoue, I thought we had got ourselves a bargain as his first appearances, up to his injury against the goons, were impressive imo. But he hassn't for one reason or another (and that includes Timmy-boy's influence) seemed to get anywhere to that previous level.

I guess because B is a CM, not an out-and-out DM. Bentaleb has played DM, true...but then Etienne has and will, if needed, be a CB.

True enough. I'm not against Capoue, but he's such a limited player, Sandro without the personality.
