The more i think about it, the sillier this decision seems. Granted, it was a big task to clear out all the backroom staff, and if Moyes is guilty of one thing that's let him down then that is it, but to basically start afresh and clearly not have the structure in place to convince top players to go there in the time he had in the last window, it was always going to be a season of comparative disappointment for their fans. It's not like they've plummeted down the table, they're only 7th, and i think it's massively unfair that they've judged him on ten months.

If he did indeed lose the dressing room then i'd like to know how - maybe a couple of prima-dona players, but the bulk of that squad, whilst frank and honest in their criticism of his record, are decent, hard working and loyal to the club so i don't believe they'd turn on Fergusons chosen one so quickly.

It just stinks really all round - too much media pressure, too much expected from a loud selection of fans. Feel sorry for him.

One of my favourite phrases in football - purely because it always reminds me of that scene in Spinal Tap where they get lost trying to find the stage.

The football has been atrocious, he's come across as a massive loser in interviews, and the players aren't playing for him. Every single Manchester United fan I've spoken to was desperate for him to go by this point.

He had to go: this wasn't getting turned round by him, and rival clubs will be more fearful of United now that he's gone.

Love how Jamie Redknapp is basically saying it was right to sack Moyes but seemed to think it was wrong to sack AVB.

Also, he is saying that they should spend £100m in the summer but said we were stupid to spend that money.

What a ****.

Yep. That sums him up. You've got to be spectacularly fucking thick to be the dumbest guy in a room filled with footballers and ex-pros but he always is that guy.

You've got to think whether anyone will really want the job, it's a hiding to nothing. Bit like managing our lot.

Fergie was a canny old so and so, he knew that the time was right to go. Poor old Moyes will be left with £5 mill in his bin, no doubt be a pundit on the world cup, then walk into a job next season, after being linked to us no doubt.

It's a hard life.......

Anchelotti was saying similar things just before he left Milan.

At the end of the day, money talks.
On a club level in this case. If manure throw a lorry load at BD they may well tell kloppy to fuck off. But he's not gonna be swayed by big wages after what he's just said.

The first option is the only way it's gonna happen now and it might take a while as BD will want to find a new manager before the take the wedge for klopp.

I'm intrigued to see how Utd spend the reported £150 million warchest they supposedly have for this summer....
They currently have no manager and as it stands they will have no European football of any sort next season. The attraction to the club isn't what it once was.
The quality of player they need is going to set them back £35-40 million EACH, so there's not exactly going to be a massive overhaul!

Tbf it still is Man Utd. the most successful English club ever and in the top 4 biggest clubs in the world.
They'll attract everyone they want

True, but when City & Chelsea can mix CL football with sky high wages it's pretty obvious where the best players will end up.
Then again, United need to be looking at younger players with potential so they may do okay in the market.

Well they wont attract everyone they want, they won't get Guardiola, they won't get Ronaldo, they won't get Messi, they won't Bale etc etc.

Like everybody else they have their limits and will get the best they can which won't be what they want.

I'd imagine they might have a bout of amnesia and try to nick a couple of our from us. I only hope we hold out for foreign clubs when we have to sell this summer.

Who would they want from us, Eriksen?

They have a keeper and vertonghen i very much doubt, can't remotely see anybody else.

I'll have officially given up on Levy-era Spurs if we start selling our best players to those ****s again. That would be it for me until we had a new owner.

One of our DMs, maybe Sandro. Not good enough for our squad anyway so no great loss I suppose. :D

Indeed. I hasten to add, I don't think that would happen. DL is many things but he isn't an outright halfwit. The revolt would be instant and he's got enough on his plate as is.
