I feel the big problem is mentality and lack of experience with this squad. The absense of Ali and Dembele also added to the lack of imagination and steel in midfield against Newcastle. We still lack that ability to truly kill a game off and miss loads of opportunities purely down to the lack of experience and weak mentality.
This is a young squad that will develop but we do need a few more experienced hardened professionals to add to the squad, even if they come in as are short term freebees or loans.( I am sure there are a few out there worth considering )
Add to this another proven young hungry striker and midfielder and we may have the right mix.
Overall it was a great season, yes I am disappointed finishing 3rd.....never thought I would write that.....we finished 3rd......time to celebrate.

I do think that Poch contributed to the humiliation yesterday by strangely taking off Walker and bringing on Chadli when we were 1-2 down. I know we needed another goal but at that point we were controlling the game against 10 men and it seemed very likely we would equalize, however bad we had been playing earlier. No need to change the shape. But no cover at RB, Newcastle break away down that unguarded side , get a dubious pen then we surrendered completely.

I don't disagree, but I also understand Poch logic. At that stage we had to score two goals without the benefit of much time. Throughout the game we had space on the right side of the pitch but Walkers delivery was so atrocious that we weren't much of a threat from that position. You could argue Chadli was more likely to take on a player or deliver a ball that would lead to a chance.

We only needed to score 1 more goal....

I think he possibly contributed before the game when I read that he had said 'I don't care about finishing above Arsenal'. His reaction and comments after the game showed that he does care but he shouldn't have the opposite said before even though he might have been trying to emphasise something else.
It was shocking to see those guys strolling around like a pre-season friendly. Also I don't buy it that this squad/team aren't enough without Ali and Dembele, we did alright last year with Mason and Benteleb when Dembele was out in the cold.

I imagine he was trying to take the pressure off. Went well

Mason has been a shadow of what he was the previous season and Bentaleb has been injured most of the season so neither one has been able to fill that gap. Rumours suggest that Mason has been playing with an issue that needs surgery and that Poch no longer wants Bentaleb . Not sure if either is true. Are you really saying we don't need to strengthen with at least 1 central midfielder because we have those 2 ?

I am confused. You say the squad / team are fine with Mason and Bentaleb when we are without Alli and Dembele but in your next post you deny having said that ?
