Who would have thought we were the team who made the biggest profit this window?

Spent 5m
sold 30m

Net profit of 25m

Funny thing is, we could actually afford to pay £100k pw wages since we stockpile so much cash.

Would be good if we sold Huddlestone, how much did we pay for him? If we sold him for £8m we'd probably make a good few million profit on him.

Approx £20million a year off the wage bill from those sales, not sure what we are paying Parker, Friedel and Adebayor but I'd imagine we have reduced the wage bill overall by about £12million.

tho if you look at the net profit/ loss on the players we let go - we probably made a huge loss.
How much did we pay for hutton? 9m? and sold for 4m?
plus wilson, bentley, jj, etc.

totally different to the profit/loss on teh players bought pre-redknapp, when we purchased quality players developed them and then sold for huge profits.

but you can counter that was making a 5m profit with O'Hara

Agreed - we made a profit by selling a home grown player - but on the players signed in the redknapp era - we have bought premier league experienced players at premium prices and sold them at a significant loss - albeit they have all done jobs for us at a time they were needed.
however - this is not sustainable for a club like us, with a limited stadium and therefore limited finances.
We need to speculate on some cheaper players from abroad and youngsters from teh lower league to develop them into the quality we have.
We have recently been fixated with signing established stars - rather than speculating - and we need to have a good mix of both.
we probably needed to consolidate a little and trim the squad, but its a shame we could not pick up a bargain or 2 more this window.

Well we could have sold Modric for 40m and got a 24m profit on him.

Would that have made you happy?

The problem is, that even with the illusive 'new stadium' we aren't out of the woods for quite some time.

Arsenal have been there, what? 5 years now? And they had to get Arteta to take a wage cut. An ex-everton player took a wage cut to join them!

So I don't think we'll ever see a return to big expenditure unless we get a free spending billionaire.

We either trust Levy or we don't......i think we are in good hands personally, i don't think many can juggle our finances the way he does on our limited turnover and still have a top 5 club with a decent side, add that he may have one eye on funds for a new stadium to consider...it ain't easy.
