I don't think any of us believe we will make top four now, I just hope we do not finish in a Europa place as that competition has been a blight on us for the last few seasons.

Doubt we would make top 4 but manu have some tough games and could mess up. .but would also mean us winning every game.
So slim chance...but unlikely.

As for Europe. ...I'd rather us be in it.
I know it can be a pain due to the amount of games and silly mid week games to places I've never heard of...
But it's a cup that we could win and another route into champs.
Plus brings more money into the club and surely gives our younger players more experience, which must be a good thing

I see this idea a lot . We haven't come within a mile of being close to doing well in the Europa . Yes its mathematically possible we could win it but there is zero evidence it could happen .

Conversely ,we have been in and around top 4 a lot in the last 5 years .

Think top 4 went when we rolled over at United.Call me old fashioned but i want us in Europe even if its a drag on our season.

i must say your spot on there.I remember when we never played in europe.Spurs fans do forget we were a mid table club for 20 odd years.About the season being a drag,i dont think it will we need too play the young youth and let them get use too playing aboard and at the lane every 2 weeks or so.We need too be smart and use them along side mason, nabil and kane.

I have to say, I have been to Florence and Benficas stadium in the last two seasons, places I would probably never have seen if it wasn't for Spurs. For me, win or lose, these are memories I will have for the rest of my life.

Yes i remember those dark days in the 90's battling it out with the likes of Boro to qualify for the UEFA Cup,i remember how we longed for Europe but missed it every year. Now we get it regular albeit a different format now we get fans moaning that we are in it!

Does the City result change things? Perhaps, it puts our loss there in perspective. City are vulnerable, and even though the Goons put four past Pool, three of them were down to Touré brainfarts. In other words, I think they may be vulnerable despite their record. The biggest threat to Chelsea is ManU and fourth is still on after tonight, but it's a mighty tall order.

Even in our heydays, we were more prone to losing to the weaker teams than the big ones.

Chelsea lost at home to Bradford and drew at home to Burnley.
Arsenal couldn't beat Leicester, Hull or Stoke
United couldn't beat MK Dons, Burnley, Sunderland or Leicester
City couldn't beat Middlesbrough, QPR or Burnley

Fuck knows who the EPL is going to offer up for CL next year :D

If you'd said the way we're playing right now hardly inspires confidence i'd have agreed with you.

Didn't Burnley beat and drew with city??
Didn't Stoke beat the scum and drew with utd??
But I don't mind a bit of torture ☺

The new TV deal has removed some/much of the need for champions league from us and a few others of the top clubs. Just enjoy the ride many boardrooms will be saying.

And as for cups and Europa forget it, are we bovvered?

The slightest whiff of top four and everyones expectations change. I thought we were all happy with a 6th place finish at the beginning of the season?
