Guys, you get a 2% reduction on commission. This means it's changed from 5 to 4.9%! You do NOT have a 2% commission with betfair so don't make that mistake in your calculations.

That's not what the betfair chat advisor said, she said the commission is set at 2%

You can find you actually commission somewhere in your account pages (it's pretty hard to find!).

I can guarantee you it'll be 4.9%

The commission you pay is listed on your account statement

"Comm Charged 4.89% On Net winnings of GBP23.91"

I currently have:

2,101 Exchange points = 2%Commission Discount

The discount is off the market base rate which is 5% for most things (football, racing, etc).

£175 in free bets from the racing refunds yesterday/today. That should convert into something like £140 and with the qualifying loses it should be over £120 profit :)

This is spot-on, the more you bet the bigger your discount, it is not set to 2% you would have to be paying £thousands each week in commission (let alone the actual bet amounts) to get to 2%. The lowest I have ever got to was 3.6% commission and that was during a very very busy period betting £thousands each day.

Nice result on the racing yesterday Rob! If you haven't already, make sure you get some good practice in dutching - just you wait until Cheltenham in March, there's usually 2-3 extra place races each day, for 5 days! :D there's a few festivals throughout the year like this. Big, big money makers! I made around £2.5k during Cheltenham festival this year, and that's before we found the dutching strategy :)

Nice one Ben, but I'm finding I can't get matches that give low enough qualifying losses, especially with Sky's 1/5th the odds, spent quite a while at it yesterday but odds just wouldn't hit.

As they are doing 6 places instead of 4, you need to look for "place arbs" so odds on the place market that are lower than the 1/5 odds give on Sky. You can check the 5 place market also, though there is less liquidity there and means you only get a bumper payout for 6th, versus 5th and 6th.

Sometimes these races are better than others, and is somewhat based on the number of runners. If there's 6 places on 20 runners versus 25 runners it will provide better place odds so more good matches can be found easier.

Casumo text me about getting 2 free spins, did them and won £80 in bonus money on the first spin which would have needed over 2 grand of wagering. Use the monopoly loophole and ended up withdrawing £136 :D

Where can I read about the monopoly loophole?

Anybody having issues with Betfair verifying documents? It's taking them an absolute age to do it and I'm eager to get started.

Sorry, did that years ago so can't help much but I don't remember it being an issue.

I've not been able to give this any time over the past month or so. Lost two jobs and moved house, so things have been pretty stressful. Still got a decent amount in accounts so should I get back on the horse? People still making money?

I'd say so to. I've had £45 of free bets emailed to me this week for £20 worth of qualifying bets. It's taken me about 10 minutes to do the bets.

First gubbing courtesy of Boylesports this morning, reading online, they are notorious for it. Shame as I quite liked their crossbar offer....

@Profit Squad should sort it quickly. I know they're doing maintenance on their site this afternoon so maybe linked to that.
