I get why it would be a big consideration in youth football, but my point was more about established senior players. We know exactly what we're getting at that stage.
Yeah I was kinda meaning that not many shorter keepers will be coming through as often don’t get past academy stage

Would be disappointed personally if we sign a HG keeper just because they are, if we want to seriously take care of the position for the next few years. It's been pointed out a million times that we should try to sign the absolute best player possible, like Liverpool did with Alisson at the time, so if we end up with a Raya or a Pickford...that ain't it.
I am with you on this. We should aspire to sign the best keeper, not one that fits a HG requirement.

Actually what I have noticed with Forster is how comfortable he is with the ball and with either foot. It makes a massive difference to the defence and shows the one area that Lloris struggles considerably.

Henderson being displaced by keylor navas isn’t a good sign imo
Henderson is/was injured so that’s the whole reason Navas came in anyway.
Think we should be aiming higher that Henderson anyway.

Raya is the safe option but whoever gets Costa is getting 1 of if not the best GK in the world for next 10 years in my opinion. Along with the Georgian lad at Valencia mamaswetwilly and Maignan? Maignon? Mangone? At AC Milan

Most of these are volume stats, just means he faces a lot of shots (brentgord defend deep so a lot are from distance as well.) The goals prevented is a useful one, but would be better as a per 90 number.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not against him, just not sure.
He faces most shots and is also second in %saved. That is crazy good. Literally great in all XG stats too.

Can't believe that people are talking about "wasting" a non HG spot on a goalkeeper.
In modern football it must be one of the most important positions in your team.

In Belgium everybody is raving about Bart Verbruggen, the 20 year old keeper of Anderlecht. Excellent shot stopper with great feet and winner mentality.
He has only come in the first team halfway through this season but he got his first call up for the Dutch national team this week.
With Jasper Cillessen (33, NEC) and Mark Flekken (29, SC Freiburg) the other 2 keepers called up there's a big chance Koeman will go for Verbruggen in goal and he will be the Dutch number 1 for the next 10 years.
Anderlecht won at Villarreal last week and Verbruggen was nominated by UEFA for player of the week.
Kompany tried to buy him last summer (when he was still playing in the Belgian second division with the Anderlecht Futures) and again in the last winter mercato but Anderlecht refused 2 times.
This summer will probably be the last chance to buy him for "reasonable" money.

These are the obscure signings I love. I’m sold

Jose Sa I like. But all signs point to Raya being the logical choice. Henderson I could live with too.

First time I’ve seen our new keeper today and if there is an opportunity to upgrade before the window shuts we should be all over it I think.

Brentford fans knew he was the weak link and put it on him and no doubt so will other teams, he got lucky on a few occasions today - distribution and decision making concern me, reminds me of a no2, not a replacement for Hugo Lloris.
