Not from the same guy who has posted a fair bit on the stadium before..

but spursforlife1982-present has posted this

Have found out today from someone who is high up in Haringey council and has been working on the planning permission of the new stadium.

That plannng permission HAS been GRANTED to Tottenham Hotspur which they already know about, Tottenham have the funds in place to go ahead and complete the whole project.

The delay in announcing it officially is that they have to let anyone who has any protests against the build going ahead have there say where it will be passed on to Central Government to show the arguement against the build..

Will be released officially to the public anytime from January 4th 2010

Just got an email from "Daniel Levy" to which I assume Mr. M. Merge...but anyway asking people to email Haringey council offering support for the new build. I don't live in Haringey so not sure it's appropriate I email, but if any of you live nearby and want a copy, PM me and I'll send it to you.

I think there might be something fishy going on with the responses, responses 75 to 125 with the sole exception of response 97 are all emails in an identical font and all in favour of the development. Many of them in the same tone and duplicating the same points and the most bizarre thing is it that not a single email has been dated.

While I have no objection to the development, I do hope that somebody hasn't been trying to 'help out' by boosting the support for the development.

It just strikes me as strange that in the first 74 responses there are only a few emails, most responses are letters or submitted via the online form, containing a fairly split decision and then all of a sudden there a 50 emails all in support of the application.

Another 30 responses (126-155) have been added in the last couple of hours, all 30 in support of the development, all emails, all undated.

Perhaps they are just uploading all the support emails in one batch. It still seems a bit strange to me that that is now 80 emails of support all added in the last 24 hours, that's over half of all the responses in the whole month since the plans were submitted.

I think they are all emails sent to the club, so obviously they would have the same text, and almost all from spurs fans who do not live in the area, so ofcourse they all say practicaly the same thing..

The club has recently urged people living in the nerby area to support the development via email, that would explain the new batch

This is the reason for the surge in emails over the last few days

I hope you don’t mind me emailing you, but we are contacting everyone who signed up to the online petition backing our Northumberland Development Project planning application for a world class new stadium alongside homes, shops and public space.
As you know we have recently submitted the planning application and Haringey Council is currently carrying out its statutory consultation before the planning committee meets early next year to decide whether or not to grant us permission.

It is vital that the Council understands just how strongly people feel about these plans and the benefits they will deliver for the area. If we are turned down we will have to find an alternative site outside of the Borough which would also be a huge blow to the local economy.

We are therefore asking you if you would please take a moment of your time to email or write to the planning team at Haringey Council registering your support.

You don’t need to say much and it is important to that you put this in your own words rather than lots of people sending in standard letters, but it could mention:

· That you are writing to register your full support for the Club’s planning applications
· That the scheme will deliver real benefits for local people and help regenerate the area (new jobs, more spend in shops and services, more people coming to the area, more shopping choice)
· That it will significantly improve this part of the Tottenham High Road, including a new public square which the area would benefit from and which would host a wide variety of events and activities
· That it will, importantly, secure the future of the Club and the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation in Tottenham – vital if the local area is to thrive in the future

When emailing or writing you do need to state your name and address and this should be sent before Christmas. You need to quote planning reference HGY/2009/2000 and email [email protected] or write to Planning Department, London Borough of Haringey, 639 High Road, London, N17 8BD.

I also enclose a fuller briefing note about the scheme for your information but the email or letter can be short and simply needs to register support.

The Northumberland Development Project is one of the most important developments in the Club’s history. It will be a stunning building with an exceptional atmosphere and will enable us to compete at the very highest level.

Thank you so much for your support to date and I do hope you will feel able to contact the Council about our plans.

Yours sincerely

I guess the council wants the support to outweigh the opposition so that it can give the go ahead without anyone taking issue with it, I would expect there to have been contact with he club to this effect and the club has acted accordingly.

So "New White Hart Lane" is on the FA list for World Cup 2018...great news. Lord Mawhinney said he was told by the club that they expected the stadium to be completed by 2016.

To add to that a little, he said we expect to get planning permission for the stadium early next year.

From what I read, and I could be wrong, Wembly and the Emirates are certs, and the other Lonon place is between us and the Olympic stadium. I can see which way that will go. :-|

Not neccessarily. If it has an athletic track around it, it won't help. Also if they reduce the capacity to 25k either.

Appartently after the Olympics they will reduce the capacity of the Olympic Stadium to around 25,000. Also, the Olympic Stadium will have a track around the pitch which will work it the new White Hart Lane's favour. I reckon if we get the stadium built in time our stadium will be choosen instead of the Olympic Stadium.

So they've added on 3 years already?

Yeah, it's not built for football, it's simply not designed for it.

IF we get ours completed, then we will be a dead cert. 55k capacity, in London, state of the art facilities? the only reason we're not certs as well is because a spade isn't even in the ground yet.

this is a great boost for us getting planning permission and for the stadium to happen

i think if the stadium is built and up and running it will get the nod over the olympic stadium which isn't a football stadium - as a football stadium our one will knock that into the proverbial cockereled hat

people 2016 is for the full completion, If 2016 is the full completion date it means we will be ready to move into it in 2013. The plans make it very clear

The either or thing with the Olympic stadium is just belt and braces, It's the new White Hart Lane but as we haven't officially got planning permission and started work yet the bid had to give an alternative that's all.
Makes it an absolute certainty that we will have the new stadium, how could any council turn down the opportunity to have the borough of Tottenham beamed around the world to billions of people?
