Went to the training ground today for a tour and quick presentation on the new stadium.
No real new news, though saw a pic of the north stand which I hadn't seen before (others may have).
No boxes in the north stand and it will be three tiers. There are only boxes in the East and West stands which I think is really positive as it means no club level behind the goals.
From what they were saying it seems that the pitch will go under the south stand where it will sit in an area with sprinklers, lamps etc and space will be 2m high so it can still be worked on.
Apologies if this info is already out there, thought I'd share just in case it wasn't.

That is excellent news - it should look a bit more like there are 4 separate stands rather than the amorphous bowl of the Immigrants.

Agree.

Just wondering why we don't put a kop on the north stand too.

Would be amazing atmosphere.

I hadn't noticed previously that the new apartments and club shop (or is it a museum) will have artifical turf on the roof.

Also why do the first two apartment buildings/hotel look so different from the others? You'd have thought they could make them a bit more uniform.

If they were all the same, it might look like a dodgy housing estate e.g. Broadwater farm.

To be honest, and I think I might be in the minority, just on that incomplete picture I prefer that end to the other that we are making a big deal of. I know we have seen very few pictures of it so far so what it would look like when built we don't know, but I still think that Kop Stand doesn't look very imposing. If that North End is steep then I'd love it if we just had that at the other end and the feeling of it being enclosed and the fans right on top of the pitch.

Those two buildings are intentionally different to make them distinct from the apartments. It's an oft used planning technique. Look at the new West Quay development the flats are markedly different (and plainer) in style than the leisure focused building. That is the case here too. The hotel is on the west of the development, the strangely shaped building has the leisure element such as the climbing wall and the other 3 matching buildings are the residential.

First thing that stands out is that the pitch is a different distance to the stands on all sides. Closest at the Kop.
