No sponsor would want to associated by name with a project that might hit problems - I get that.
But given we are going full steam ahead with this thing, and given all that effort we put in to entice the NFL sponsors - the NFL were mean to to be lining them up as I remember - I was expecting the ITKs by now to be giving us a little bit more than nowhere close to a deal.

Unless of course Hertyid meant we are nowhere near a deal with the 3 mega corporations that we have narrowed it down to. That would be more than fine. :)

I'll add that I believe the tie in with the nfl is genuine. I imagine Joe Lewis would be quite pleased with himself if he got to see NFL games in his own stadium, but whether that means he would be prepared to splash out big time to achieve that is another question.

My expectation (not ITK but just general business experience) is that DL will have narrowed potential sponsors down to a very short list, maybe 3 or 4, and agreed headline terms - but not on any legally binding format, and there may well be a ton of detail to be agreed on what the sponsorship includes or doesn't include other than naming rights.

On the other side the potential sponsors may well be looking at other big sponsorship deals (not necessarily naming rights deals) if the Spurs deal falls through.

At a certain point in time the sponsors and Spurs are going to be ready to finalise the deal, but as I say I think that comes in 6-12 months when the stadium outcome/precise timescales is more certain, and there may be other non Spurs timings that the deal wants to coincide with (who knows).

That's just the way that a big deal like the naming rights deal is going to work.

I wouldn't worry that the deal isn't going to be done, I just don't know when.

Will we get ITK info beforehand - quite possibly. But equally possibly (like Modric arriving) we may wake up one Sunday morning (before that TW had opened) to Spurs being headline.....

The Longer DL leaves it, the stronger his negotiating position becomes, because risks and uncertainties diminish as time goes by. By leaving it, THFC bear the biggest initial risks, and therefore get the bigger rewards in the longer term; perfect DL strategy.

But as Spursidol says above, you can be pretty sure that he knows roughly who it is likely to be already, (there's no way that conversations haven't already taken place) even though nothing will be signed let alone announced for quite some time.

In my opinion.

Actually the concrete is more likely to be a "mud mat" which goes under the basement and stops the dirt from hitting the slabs on the basement floor, even though there will likely be some gap between this level and the basement level.

I am led to believe that we have a number of interested parties apart from the obvious legal and build times confirmed Levy is holding all the cards. If we were to win the league for example the additional kudos and interest that would generate is worth serious money. From what I hear I would expect an announcement sometime in the summer

Not sure that's right mate. It's more likely to be blinding, a working "platform" that the formwork and reinforcement are set up on so the workers aren't ankle deep in mud and prevents contamination of the concrete.

Tottenham Hotspur stadium contract for local firm

A Magherafelt-based company is celebrating landing a lucrative contract to develop the 3D building information model of Tottenham Hotspurs’ new 61,000 capacity football stadium.

A director of RCDS (NI) Ltd, Michael Dunbar said the stadium contract was the biggest the company has secured to date and they will be working on it until the end of 2017

Michael and his business partner Stephen O’Hara set up the company seven years ago when they took a big risk and went out on their own, leaving their jobs at Creagh Concrete.

Initially, they worked from their bedrooms until work started to come in and now they have three offices across Northern Ireland - Magherafelt, Limavady and Lisburn, employing ten people.

Michael, who lives in Magherafelt, says the company will be modelling the precast concrete units within the stadium to include terracing, support beams and stairs.

The total cost of the stadium is estimated at £400 million and its expected to be open in time for the 2018-19 season.

He describes it as a niche market involving highly specialised work. “The Tottenham contract is worth a six figure sum to us,” he explained. “We will have four people working full time on it.”

Michael said the contract comes on the back of a successful 2015 which saw the company pick up first place in the Tekla National BIM Model awards for works at 3 St Pancras Square, London.

They have also worked on prisons, Leeds Arena and Cambridge University students accommodation.

“We have worked on a variety of high profile projects throughout the UK and Ireland and are delighted to be involved in this prestigious project at one of the Premier League’s top football clubs,” he added

Another contract showing the stadium is progressing - this one designing (or maybe ,making ?) the moulds to make the pre-cast sections of concrete to form the stairwells terracing etc

Nb. Leeds arena also designed by Populous

Stadium naming rights is something that takes multiple years to negotiate, not a month. There's definitely interest.

Hopefully winning the league or even just qualifying for the CL will stir up more interest, I believe it most certainly will.

It may do, but the sorts of businesses able to put 300m plus towards sponsorship don't do so lightly. They will have reasons they want to target football and London with their brand, and us having some success on the pitch may help - but it'll by no means be crucial. That's another reason why the biggest European clubs want CL wildcards - much easier negotiate huge sponsorships if you can guarantee CL every year.

The London Assembley planning page hasn't been updated since November. I chased up the Mayors office 4 to 5 weeks ago and they finally replied today. Should be updated by end of this week. We can then monitor more closely when Spurs/Haringey submit the planning application for consideration

Dear Sam,

Thank you for your email, which was passed to me for response.

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to you and also the delay in getting up-to-date current applications on the website.

Work has progressed significantly on this and we anticipate that the page will be up-to-date by the end of the week.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Kind Regards,

Joe Wilkinson

I notice the @NewSpursStadium Twitter account seems to have deleted all the tweets and removed all the followers. Seems to be having a meltdown about us taking the Europa League seriously. Shame, there were some good updates on that account.

Indeed, was a good account - shame the guy has closed it.

How is closing a really good twitter account going to force Tottenham to play reserve sides in the Europa league? It's absolutely horsebox.
