Hertyid on coys re the stadium:

Just got confirmation on Wembley for next season. Interesting on us pushing for full capacity, I wonder if we could sell 90k for Madrid or Barca? (not convinced)

"We have full 90,000 if we want them. Restrictions mean they are limited to how many 50,000+ events they can do but Spurs have asked for them not to be restricted and have booked out Tuesday and Wednesday all the way through to the semi-finals."

"We are included in the calcs for the events that can go over 50,000 attendees.

Restriction is basically 30 or so events per year over 50,000 people and basically unlimited under 50,000."

Good, this is what I was basically hoping for. No restrictions on crowd size for the CL games.

I'll be along to those games, for so many reasons! Not least of which I want to see us in the CL, getting tickets has been so difficult at WHL and because of all the normal reasons for seeing us, like blind faith and loyalty (and good footy!)

As if that makes a difference! I can imagine it now... Donna Cullen walking in to Daniel Levy's office...

DL: Hey hot stuff...
DC: Daniel, we've talked about this, lets concentrate on business. What did we decide on the Wembley issue, are we going to settle for reduced capacity or do we need to push for 90k?
DL: I haven't decided yet, what were the conditions? What was the limit on number of matches? Let me know what the extra cost is for their lost ticketing from other events and do you think we can fill it for all those games?
DC: Forget all that, I've just seen that guy... well, I think it's a guy, Phischy, that sounds like a guy, right? Anyway, they've just been on SpursCommunity and said they'd be along; based on that I'd say we'll get 90,000 no matter what.
DL: Phischy is coming? Bloody hell, well lets get it done.
DL: And whilst we're at it, where did we fall on amending the capacity for the new White Hart Lane to 90,000?
DC: I'll just give Phischy a shout to see what he thinks. Be right back.

Welcome to my brain.

Information about the process for the demolition of the 3 locally listed buildings.

http://www.planningservices.haringey...et?PKID=289883

Approval was granted yesterday so work should start soon.

This document sets out what is to be retained.

Looking at what is to be retained most of it is real tat. Can't believe they made such a fuss about these buildings. Really only the front of the dispensary has any architectural merit.

I agree to some extent. It's going to mean loads of atmosphere sapping tourists at games but thfc have got to pay for it somehow.

Ah yes, I've just remembered I have this overlay highlighting the differences between our new ground and there's. It might by of Skyscraper City, I can't remember.

Their upper tier nearly sits completely outside the boundary of ours. It's so far away. And the diagram only includes seats that are already blocked off. When they increase the capacity like they intend to, they will be using seats even further away in the staggered sections in the corners.

Ok, so I found our version and my lack of any appropriate software on this 8 year old pc means that I did a dirty overlay using word matching up the sizes and learned a couple of things. Firstly, their graphic is a bit of a lie, as, with identical pitch sizes, what they claim is 190m is bigger than what we think is 190m! But then variations in pitch size or whatever could account for that, our picture didn't have a useful scale for me to get it spot on. But basically, if we assume their pitch and ours are identical sizes (which won't be far off being true based on regulations and the fact that at this scale 1 meter doesn't really make much difference) the blue splodge is our stadium footprint compared with their stadium. I think that speaks absolute volumes.

It's been obvious for a long tome that our purpose built stadium will be better and more appropriate for watching football. But, let's wait and see what the general consensus is from those attending their ground before we completely dismiss it as a disaster. I seem to remember that there was quite a large turnout for the Rugby matches and we're told that it was a success(?).

Even if it is awful there is too much positivity about it in their fan-base to admit it right away. Might take a season for the full realisation of what they have to sink in.

Their fans are going to be much louder than normal for a while there. Won't be until the honeymoon period is over we see how it really is.
