Although I don’t disagree completely with the article, I think we have some sort of responsibility to pay for the clean up on match days, it’s also just a typical mentality theses day. Just because the club is “The 11th richest ” does it mean we have to keep paying for everything? Where does it stop?

Should the club be getting bad press because they are trying to help an area that is in desperate need of re-generation. It’s almost as if they enjoy living in a fly tipped area

It's left until the end of the article to mention that the council don't actually have any issues with the arrangements and that we pay huge business rates to cover that side of things already. Just seems that a local Cllr and the Guardian have an axe to grind. I'm sure every club has similar issues...

That’s why we business rates ? You think we should pay extra on top ? I doubt any team in PL does.

The idiots want more and more. Saying it is spurs who benefit from the new ground....well hello we have spent the best part of 1b in total which HAS to be paid back. We will be dragging in 60,062 people to the immediate area on around 25 times per year ffs. Local businesses will benefit no? The area will have its profile raised, jobs created.

They need to get their fingers out their a** and drag the area into the modern era. Its so bad round their my misses doesnt want me to go in fear of me being stabbed up or robbed.

I don't see how anyone can claim that spurs should be paying for the clean up of the area when we aren't even using the area at present. None of the litter or damage is caused by the club or its match day attendants as there are no games on at present so how can anyone think that spurs should be paying to clean up the area? Once matched get under way I agree with spurs position. We pay huge business rates to the local council, which is intended to be used for clean up services.

Interesting. Much of the glasswork in the stadium looks like it's floor-to-ceiling so I would have thought that they don't open for safety reasons. Does that mean that fitting the lighting will involve people going up in cherry pickers again, remove a panel, fit the lights, re-fit the panel do you think? Seems like a heck of a job to do after the veil goes up.

Having said that, it's just some lights so obviously has no impact on us being able to play there. Just an oddity of a huge build I suppose.

I am hearing that the Oakland Raiders (who are relocating to Las Vegas when their new stadium is ready in 2020) will play their 2019 season in London. Certainly they would chose NWHL over Wembley. They would play 2 blocks of 4 games at home in the regular season.

What a great way for Levy to grow the Spurs brand and increase the likelihood of an expansion / relocated NFL team to call NWHL home.

FFS why has this been turned into the Regeneration of Tottenham Thread when there is already one?

Guardian/Observer at it again with yet another nitpicking non-story intending to paint Spurs as a negative force in the area. Absolute bizarre coverage from them...

Stop listening to/reading the media on our stadium.

All they're gonna do is vampyrically suck the situation dry and shittalk it to death and then when it's open say all of the drama - which they created - was worth it because it's one of the best around and is magnificent.

Don't play the game.

You would hope those 4 blocks include International breaks - but I think that is going to put a lot of pressure on Spurs - if they have to play away for 4 weeks - twice. And, we will presumably have to deal with European football in that stretch - meaning we could be putting the stadium to the test by shifting fields multiple times over a short-period of time.

I recall comments that Spurs and a NFL team could both play at NWHL on the same day. The 4 week home blocks would presumably be weeks 1 to 4 and 9 to 12 or weeks 5 to 8 and 13 to 16.

As an Aussie it would be great to make a trip to see 2 games at NWHL on the same day / weekend and I am sure our American friends would concur.

Don’t know why Spurs would have to play away? The stadium was made to be able to handle both sports in the same day, and odds are spurs wouldn’t be playing 4 straight sundays at home anyway. Hosting soccer on Saturday and NFL on Sunday should be a walk in the park for the stadium.

I went to the stadium yesterday for the first time since The Finale. I've watched almost every Chris Cowlin video for a a year and a half and seen every pic in this thread, but it really doesn't do justice to how huge and beautiful the NWHL is.

I think when we move in it will change the perception of the club among our players, our fans and outsiders. We are no longer little Tottenham, helpless in the face of of interest from the likes of Man U and Real Madrid.
