Anyone know what that spiralling glass bridge thing is on the east stand?
It's part of a massive version of Mouse Trap. The bridge to role the ball down from Lilywhite House, the slopes around the pitch, the abseiling rope to carry the cage. It's all starting to come together now.

Presumably leading to the 'Cheese Room'....

I am hearing that the Oakland Raiders (who are relocating to Las Vegas when their new stadium is ready in 2020) will play their 2019 season in London. Certainly they would chose NWHL over Wembley. They would play 2 blocks of 4 games at home in the regular season.

What a great way for Levy to grow the Spurs brand and increase the likelihood of an expansion / relocated NFL team to call NWHL home.

It now sounds like the Raiders will play in the San Francisco Giants stadium for 2019. It’s a baseball stadium but easily adapted for the 8 home games.

I don't think it will happen and who will want to see a team lose for 8 games

You would hope those 4 blocks include International breaks - but I think that is going to put a lot of pressure on Spurs - if they have to play away for 4 weeks - twice. And, we will presumably have to deal with European football in that stretch - meaning we could be putting the stadium to the test by shifting fields multiple times over a short-period of time.
Literally not being able to do this makes the conversion completely worth less and it would have been better just for a team to play 2 games a year on the grass pitch

The point of the movable pitch is so that we can play nfl and football on the same weekend or day. There is no reason at all why we would have to play at the same day and also worth noting that the NFL match could start at 6pm whilst our match finishing at 2pm

I love all the faith in the club who also promised the stadium would open in September...

Yes, it is conceivable that an NFL game and football match could be staged on one day - however, logistically it is not likely to happen. There would be no margin for error - like if a tray got stuck, for instance. The NFL does not do "No margin for error". In fact, they inspect each field a week before each game to determine suitability. Its hard to do that when the field is only set up a couple of hours before kick-off.

And, while the pitch might be able to be put under the stands in a short period of time, you also have the logisitics of getting the NFL pitch ready - covering the rails, installing the goal posts, getting all of the teams equipment on to the field, etc. And, you have to clear the stadium, clean the stadium, and prepare for another 60,000 people - not to mention the transportation nightmare that it causes to have 120,000 people coming and going. And then you have the police presence that would require far more overtime than they prefer...

Its something that could happen some day - but its not going to happen the first year it is open.

You say that, but the NFL have already backed the stadium knowing that it would need to change between football and NFL pitches quickly. Definitely not ideal though and they definitely won't arrange a football and NFL match on the same day until they've tested it out a few times.

Same weekend could work but same day would be a crazy idea. Not just logistics of transport connections but signage and ensuring that all fans from the morning football have cleared the stadium and marketplace in time for NFL fans to come in for the evening.

Changing pitch would be the least of their concerns

Levy said it himself in an interview that same day was a possibility.

Don’t know why Spurs would have to play away? The stadium was made to be able to handle both sports in the same day, and odds are spurs wouldn’t be playing 4 straight sundays at home anyway. Hosting soccer on Saturday and NFL on Sunday should be a walk in the park for the stadium.
When is the first game , FOR SURE?? I cant find details out onlne???

Why would it be an issue? You could have a football match finishing at two and a NFL game starting at six. That's plenty of time for changeover. It's not much different from the changeovers for the afternoon and evening sessions at the Olympics is it?

They’ll play across the bay in SF if they cant play in Oakland. The league and niners just need to allow it. Theres not even rumors of London.

The idiots want more and more. Saying it is spurs who benefit from the new ground....well hello we have spent the best part of 1b in total which HAS to be paid back. We will be dragging in 60,062 people to the immediate area on around 25 times per year ffs. Local businesses will benefit no? The area will have its profile raised, jobs created.

They need to get their fingers out their a** and drag the area into the modern era. Its so bad round their my misses doesnt want me to go in fear of me being stabbed up or robbed.
The stadium might be a slight economic boost to the area on some days but the reality is, the area will not be helped much at all by just the new stadia. New stadium rarely if ever actually helps. Only if/when the wider regeneration project os completed will the area actually benefit.

Went to see the stadium today for the first time for real not photos/videos on here or SC.
What a fabulous place it looks to be. Really capped of a couple of good days for me. I had other good news and what with that and the Everton game and my wife loving the new stadium as well it didn't matter about presents at all.
Fantastic looking piece or architecture and congrats to all involved in such a stunning stadium.
Now just get us in there.

The pitch could change over very easily in that time but it’s everything else like changing flags/banners down the high road. Getting players warmed down and out of the ground well before the NFL guys come in to set up their changing rooms.

That’s all before you look at 120,000 fans crossing over with 60k leaving at the same time that 60k are arriving. Not sure if you’ve tried walking / driving down the high road outside WHL but it’s crazily busy for a good two hours after FT and that’s assuming that people head straight for the gates without staying behind for a drink.

I just think it would be too high risk for the police to sign off on and far more likely to be us Sat / NFL on Sun or NFL weekend with us on a Monday
