You need to let go of the idea that the stewards are minimum wage studenty types just there for a few extra quid. Some are. Some have been there for years, cover away fixtures both domestic and abroad. My contact there got me chance to meet the legends that appear in my avatar at the Finale. We had decades worth at that game and as they were all leaving so many stopped to talk to the ‘lowly staff’. Martin Jol spoke highly of them as being part of the Tottenham family, players and managers come and go but there’s a constant bunch of guys who go unnoticed yet are always there. It’s only when you know a few of them you realise how much they are part of it. Who did Spurs first officially open the turnstiles to last year?I'll be very impressed if lowly staff, some who were about to lose their jobs were treated respectfully and were the first to know what was going on. Usually they are the last to know and read about it in the papers.
Generally I'm just suggesting we should hold back on the celebrations until we know for sure. We have been here before more than once. Or alternatively knock yourselves out again - maybe this time....
