Typical Spurs luck that in a world where all the Arab / muslim billionaires are buying up PL clubs, we are known as a jewish club so they won't touch us with a barge pole.

The thing is, the arabs splash cash around like they just don't care, and I'm NOT saying Jewish people are tight (before anyone get's the wrong impression), but I don't think you see the same kind of almost careless spending from Jewish billionaires in sport. If there is, I'd love to see an example.

Arab's are quite well known for flaunting their wealth, and football is an extension of that.

Abramovich is Jewish, so there goes that theory.

They won't sell. They're creating an empire. The club will eventually generate an eye watering amount of money by virtue of the stadium.

It doesn't matter, we are tiny fish compared to the arab clubs, so we won't win anything regardless how sustainable and self made we are. Best we can hope for is Europa.

The involvement of the Reuben brothers is still a bit of a mystery to me. Saudis obviously don’t need their money, Stavely is the acceptable western blonde women face of the operation so what exactly are the Ruebens doing. Tbh it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s just one big smoke screen for huge property development and the opportunity to literally take over a Northern British city
There is clearly something going on. The saudis aren't fronting it like Qatar and PSG, reading up on Staveley and she seems as dodgy as they come, not sure why she's so Interested in a football club.

I genuinely hope they end up trying to force women to cover up and refuse to take part in any pride related schemes. I want them to cause a huge huge PR headache for the premier league and the Newcastle fans whose reaction to this has been astoundingly thick.

There is absolutely no guarantee this will work out for the barcodes. They cheer and imagine being up their with Chelsea Citeh and PSG but let's be honest you have to be careful what you wish for. Anyway their first game under new ownership is against us. Lets give them a nice loss to begin their tenure.

It's probably only a 10% chance it won't 'work out' but I wouldn't rule it out.

The big issue as I see it is they're mid-season and struggling. If they'd bought the club in May, they'd have all summer to appoint a manager and throw cash around but they could seriously arrive in their first transfer window in a relegation fight. Then you really could be signing mercenaries who won't have the stomach for a battle (on the flip side we might be able to flog them Ndombele).

Longer term, who's realistically going to join them over Chelsea, Man City, PSG as well as the traditional big clubs? Yes they're eye-wateringly rich but they're going to have to blow those clubs out of the water for any top target and then persuade the player. Inevitably they'll end up with a money-motivated squad, rather than players who want to achieve success (but get paid extremely well at the same time).

City were average before their takeover so clearly it can be done but there's no guarantee. Personally I'd love to see it fail and become a Venky's/Blackburn x1,000.

I knew that actually, no idea why I forgot him. Still he seems to be the outlier doesn't he?

I guess so, unless as you say it happens in other sports and we're just not aware. I'm still hoping that Zuckerberg comes in with a bid!

That wasn't so much my point. I agree that we can't complete anymore. I just don't see ENIC selling as they are diversifying so will continue to make a lot of money. There are so many possibilities for revenue - football, NFL, boxing, concerts, rugby. Why would they sell?

Yep, our best hope is amazon or facebook buy us, but can't see it. SO annoying. If I was Musk I'd snap us up in a second and plough so much money in so we clean up everything. I'd make the arab clubs look like paupers.

Haha, I'm with you on that. It might not be the most admirable way to lift trophies but a buyout is the only way I can see us competing at the top again. Unfortunately we missed our opportunity a few years back when all the top clubs were in transition, and I can't see that happening again anytime soon unless both Pep and Klopp sod off at the same time!

Well, here is hope they are ready to overpay massively for players like Dele or Winks to bolster their HG quality.

The only positive I can hope for with all this.

Think they are aiming higher than that now

Did Joe Lewis have them killed?
Ha, is uncle Joe wielding a gun and shouting "get off my land"? No I don't think he is.
Does he bankroll the government and local police to look after his interests, then yes.

The articles that I've read certainly don't paint his business activities in Argentina in a very good light but @Amo is right in that it's really not the same as the Saudis.

I have just seen a write up where under FFP rules Geordieville could be allowed to spend 200 mill this year using some community and academy costs to offset losses. Can anyone explain to a simpleton like me how FFP rules apply to us since new stad. Also is the income generated by non football events 'accountable' in club profits, or is this money separate from the football club altogether? Sorry to be a confused dimwit, but I have never understood how a system put in place to stop overspending appears to make little difference to some.
Stay safe and happier days

A bit of light racial stereotyping to start the day....

And by the way out of the 20 Premier League clubs only 3 are now owned by Arabs. the same number as clubs owned by east/south east Asians.

The vast majority of foreign investment is actually from the US.

Well it was nice while that little period we had getting top three and pushing for title lasted!

Newcastle will be joining City and Chelski in just buying success.

Looks like we’ll be remaining in mid-table mediocrity given our shambolic manager hunt in summer and lack of signing a decent creative player. Very uninspiring.

Have you heard of a football club called Chelsea?
