No, what I'm seeing is another hate filled fucking racist.
We've crossed swords a couple of times recently and both have been in discussions about the Arab oil money getting involved with premiership football.
In both threads, you've tried to turn it against the Jewish community. In my eyes, that makes you racist.
Jewish is not a race - the are semites, just as arabs are.
And considering any form of criticism of a certain religious group (Jews) as racist is very far fetched and narrow-sighted.

Of course the fact that you blindly defend Jews whose Israel is the only "modern democratic country" to put official race laws in place, and which has built walled enclaves (ghettos/reserves - call them what you will) - puts you firmly in the hypocrite category.

No one is exempt from criticism/scrutiny if they deserve to get it - Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Buddist, white, black, semite, asian (although this is too broad a term) etc.

I think we can agree on that.

The bit which made me laugh out loud was where that article says "Locals, researchers interviewed by 'MIntpress' and journalists could not confirm Meyssans claims" that between 8,000 and 10,000..." Israeli soldiers were now spending a few weeks on Joe Lewis's island.

Does anyone else think it strange that nobody noticed a group of people that size suddenly turning up every year?

When I asked this guy previously if he'd got his information from a dodgy anti-semitic website, that's the article I'd already heard about.

Karren Brady's words seem to have been missed by the media from her Sun column.

JUBILANT scenes around St James’ Park on Thursday night after the announcement that Mike Ashley had left the club after 14 years as owner.
I am sure he was just as jubilant as the supporters to be out of there.
Because what he hoped would be a love affair between them on the scale of Romeo and Juliet ended up as irreconcilable a split as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s, with both parties happy to see the back of each other.
Supporters interviewed about their view on the new owner being Saudi, with their — how shall we put it kindly? — dubious moral dilemmas, said this was an issue for another day.
I suspect seeing off Ashley and welcoming an owner with a £320billion fortune may mean that day never comes for them.
But what the rest of the Premier League, the football authorities and the Crouch review will make of it . . . well, that day will come, I’m sure of it.

It is probably because they aren't incendiary or headline grabbing but they actually say quite a lot about what the rest of the PL owners think about this takeover. Seems they have lobbied government about it and a review is actually taking place, not that that will make much difference I suspect. If it doesn't I can see the owners taking this into their own hands. If you think Levy is pissed off I bet the West Ham owners are even more annoyed. The Saudis would have been the exact purchaser they would have wanted to buy West Ham off of them. They don't have the revenue like us and would want to take advantage of this Moyes purple patch.

Apparently there was/is a meeting this week between owners. Leaks coming out of that could be interesting.
It’s all a bit like fixing the stable door after the horse has bolted. I do wonder what they think they will be able to do. In theory they could impose strict spending limits, or a wage cap, and the nuclear option would be forming another league altogether and excluding owners like the Saudis.

Whilst this is all very interesting, and no offence meant, but I do wish you'd all piss off to another (more appropriate) thread and carry on your convo over there - it really is tedious for the rest of us!

They could of course all refuse to play them, sell to them and acknowledge them but that would mean actually doing something as opposed to hollow words.

Imagine thr power if all the clubs just refused to play them. The premier league would be powerless and the Saudis stuck with them.

I don’t think they could legally do that though. They have contractually bonding obligations to play the matches.

Not selling to them would be a start, but are we really going to turn down big offers for our unwanted players if they come knocking?

I mean they could enforce these deals if they want but if every team were to do it I think the collective bargaining power would win.

And no of course were not. If they offer 200 million for kane we take it .

This is my point , for all the moaning with everyone money talks. The journalists won't stop covering them, the clubs won't stop playing them ro doing business with them and the fans will still pay to watch.

Nobody will risk their own income to do the right thing, then they throw cash around at the journalists and locals ans before you know it just like City and Chelsea they're accepted and it's a magical story.

I think they are pissed off because it all happened without them knowing. As soon as the piracy issue was sorted the PL were fine with it. It seemed that was the only thing really keeping it from going through. The morality of those that run the PL went years ago and never had a bearing on things.

In other news, another manager doesn't fancy the job, Lampard comes across as a fairly intelligent bloke, maybe he has problems with their ethics. Probably helps he doesn't really need the money either though!

I'm not going to lock this (yet) because it's a topic worth serious and mature discussion. We remain hopeful that we start go get that but as usual with emotive subjects some people just can't or won't.

So if you want to carry on and rip the piss out of the time we put into moderating SC, be 'clever', make this about stuff that shouldn't be in here or engage in any of the bollocks we've seen over the last few pages, before you do, you should know that we're sick to the back teeth of having to deal with this shit and your ban will be a fucking long one. There's no will to argue the point either.

So please, talk about the takeover and leave the rest alone.

90% of this thread has got little to nothing to do with Newcastle but rather the general unfairness/collapse of the industry, indifference of fans, etc., yet it was my post that was the tedious one. Right.

Apologies, I got a bit riled up after a few beers and got carried away. It's not my usual style to have a go a other members and I shall act with more self-restraint in future.

Still don't understand if they wanted Bruce gone why he hasn't already? Do they not have a replacement ready to go? Is that why? I know he isn't a great manager by any means, but I do feel for him. Every movement he makes is now reported on. Constant speculation over when he will be relieved of his duties.

Honestly, what's the point?

Just listening to the media coverage and the debate is about when not if Newcastle will win the league and yet not one thing to do with football and sport has actually changed. Have they appointed an amazing manager? Signed a world class player? Have they completely restructured the football operation? The only thing that has changed as of right now is that they have an unlimited amount of cash to draw upon and yet not one penny of that has been earned through anything Newcastle have done themselves as a football club.

And that's exactly why I will never acknowledge any of Chelsea's and City's success as when you can have a club fighting relegation with Steve Bruce in charge and the narrative is about when success will come rather than if, I fail to see how any of it can be hailed as some sort of sporting achievement.

PL and CL money already put up significant barriers to clubs looking to reach the top but when you have three teams in a league who's financial wealth will never be matched no matter what actually happens on the pitch I fail to see how football in this country can actually call itself a sport anymore.

The sooner EUFA and FIFA implements 51% fan ownership the better!

It is my understanding that within the free world, just about every jurisdiction of company law would require fans to buy those shares at market rate, even if a sale were legally enforced.

I don't see fans being able to drum up 51% of £3bn+ for fan ownership of Tottenham Hotspur, for example.

The only way to wrestle back control from the sports washers now seems to be a revamped Super League, with the usual Top 4 qualification for all clubs not owned by bone saw murderers for example. The fate of which rests heavily on public opinion.

However given the Saudi's were able to lean on Boris all too easily (apparently a £200k reupholstering of the billiard room buy you a lot these days), then one would have to assume they would do so again to get him to impose whatever sanctions to stop the ESL.

Think people need to stop kidding themselves with this whole “51% fan ownership“ thing, it’s never going to happen.

Whilst financially you are probably right, but surely there is a way to structure so that financial ownership stays with the share holders, but voting rights and/or a veto remain with the fans.........are they able to release the equivalent of 51% in £1 FV shares with voter only rights? How did they structure it in Germany when they implemented it there?

It's a bit like Directors vs NEDs on a corporate board with Chairman being the arbiter.

It is really the kudos of ownership that needs to be discouraged, and by taking away ultimate control you'd effectively do that.
