Tonight's result should really see the media sit up and take notice of us, but I'm sure they'll be too busy wanking into their Liverpool scarves.

Theres still a lot of football to be played, liverpool will drop points we will too, its as simple as who drops more. Im happy chasing for once rather than being chased, im sure we're in for a huge shout come may, also got a feeling arsenal will be sucked into this.

Agreed. Bentaleb looked much better in a more advanced position, but given the level of opposition that should be expected. But if Hugo hadnt made a string od fine saves in the second half it would have been a different game.
People would be wanking over Tommy Carroll if he put in that sort of performance. He was great today, and it 18 that's not 'expected' against top half Prem opposition.

Really good performance and to be fair to Sherwood he got it right by packing the midfield.

Still think the personnel were wrong but I'm very pleased to see Sherwood seeing the importance of winning the midfield battle. I think that's our most impressive win so far (Man Utd included) and Sherwood deserves credit for that. I just hope he sees where the basis for that win came from.

This kind of comment really annoys me. "If Loris hadn't been on form, if Ade hadn't scored 2 goals, if other players hadn't played so well, if Newcastle had've scored more than us, if we hadn't played better than the opposition, well, who knows what might have happened."

FYI, Newcastle were really NOT that bad. Most of the game was quite exciting end to end stuff. We took our chances. And yes, we are a far better team than them, and it eventually showed.

Good, I'd rather us be going into the final push of the season as the underdogs.

I don't want us sitting out in front yet. The one time we managed to get CL football was when we got dumped out the FA Cup to a shite Pompey, were to face title challengers Chelsea and Arsenal and had to go away to rivals City. We stood no chance..

Was worried we'd never get what we got tonight out of Kaboul again. World class player. Hope he can stay healthy because him and Jan as a CB pairing is as good as we thought it could be.

But with goal difference we are 4 points off going ahead of them, thats 2 games more they have to slip up in. 12 games to go

To be honest, the longer we stay out of the media spotlight the better. We tend to crumble when the papers start saying our shit smells of roses. Much better to gather points in quiet.
