i don't agree with this - how many of kanes goals this year were scored from 'selfish ' positions - lots in my book

just in the past few weeks or so would you rather him have passed against the arse rather than lash it in from an unlikely angle or lay it off against stoke - i will take a selfish centre forward scoring 25 pl goals every year against a team player welbeckesk scoring half the amount

to me one of our biggest failings is not creating enough of the type of opportunities that kane scored against chelski - do that and we are half way there

Criticising harry kane when he has just followed up an unbelievable first full season with 25 pl league goals is just off the clock in stupidity to me

The goals against Stoke and Arsenal were shots taken when there wasn't much else on. Other than perhaps a cross into a packed box.... fairplay to him there. I'm talking about when he fails to square it to in Lamela for a tap in and shoots from an impossible angle instead, or the many situations where he's failed to play others in for a clear one on one or easy finish when the shot just isn't on..... its about playing the percentages.

Well he has his golden boot now..... to go with his 1 assist.
Aguero & Vardy have got 11 assists between them and just one goal less and perhaps coincidently have a trophy each to show for it with their teams.

All i'm saying is, yes theres a time to be selfish as a striker, but not at the expense of the team.

I still believe passing it more would actually give him more chances in the long run as he wont be marked as closely, that seems pretty obvious to me.

Either way...I think Kane is an excellent striker and we're lucky that we've landed him for nothing.... I just feel his ego needs to be managed so he plays for the team more than he has this year. I felt he was a better team player last season if i'm honest.

I doubt it hurts many or any of them, with apologies to Kane.
I'm sure it hurts them. It just didn't happen today. We have to learn to defend in the Italian way. This team is very much like the Argentinian team that played great football, inclusion a 24-pass goal, but then lost. We are always trying to impose ourselves on the other teams, but sometimes and especially towards the end of seasons that is not possible. That's basically what Leicester did and Chelsea have done.

The theory that Leicester are doping is based on numerous aspects which I and others have covered in depth, I am not sure what my opinion on certain Leicester players possibly doping has to do with today though?
I was only ragging you mate.. just a joke.. our form went to sh*t when Sacko got caught.. did our players worry about been caught & stopped taking.. I personally think it's as much to do with been emotionally drained & switching off as anything.. just thought I'd ask if you have any suspicions.

The funny thing is that the score doesn't really reflect the game at all....

It massively flatters us Newcastle had 2 or 3 other one on one chances and if it would have been 6 or 7 -1 it would have been a better reflection of the game.

We started slow went 2 behind played a bit better in second half, pulled one back, Mitrovic got sent of then Chadli came on for Walker and we went to pieces.
But newcastle were already relegated. How can our defence give up that many goals to side like them? Did these guys just not care? You know how embarrassing this week is going to be at work when my woolwich coworkers gonna talk bare shite.

Im gonna go get drunk

A bit like 85 when we were chasing the league with Everton and fell flat on our faces at the end finishing third behind Liverpool . However i am still a lot more positive for the future than at the start of the season.

I fear it wont have any impact on the players. Unlike a few Arse players that come out and 'rag' us we have none that do the same. Knock that piece of shite Wiltshire, but he does embody the Arse philosophy of making sure they finish above us. No evidence today that ANY of our players stepped up to that mark.

Very humble post match interview by Poch. Must have apologised to fans 4 times in 2 mins. Also agreed he has struggled to get players mentally right since Chelsea game.

At least Poch is not trying to sugar coat that performance with any sort of "its still been a great season" type talk.

He kept it real.

It's not even the score that bothers me

It's the abject nature of the performance

We played like we weren't bothered

I'd have been just as pissed off had it stayed 2-0 and we not had that little spell at the start of the second half because we played like a team who were already thinking of the Euros and not concerned with the rest of the Spurs season

Disrespectful to the fans not to finish the job, should I say not to even try to finish the job

It was so lackluster, clear that we were happy with third and automatic qualification and we had no answer (once again) to a team that wanted to put work in off the ball to pressurise us and limit our time on the ball

Exactly

Spurs players should care about finishing above Arsenal, there was plenty of unfinished business even after Leicester won the title, the players don't care about the rivalry, merely which supercar to get next

Poch should make the players come into training tomorrow at 5am for a freezing cold swim followed by a tough training session to beat all tough training sessions, and the same again in the afternoon

If anyone of them had flights to Dubai bookec tough shit, they are cancelled

3rd is better than putting my cock through a cheese grater but lets not delude ourselves that we are the 3rd best team

We are 3rd on default because Utd, Liverpool, City, Chelsea had shite seasons

We need to upgrade big time in the summer in a few areas
I always think this kind of reasoning is very British.
Murray wins Wimbledon and its 'yeah but...'.
Do you think when Man U, Chelsea, or Man City etc win the league they sit around and say 'yeah we did it but so and so were shit this season'??????
Its a losers mentality and kind of in line with what Poch was getting at.
Worry about what we're doing, fk everyone else.
Arsenal, City, etc never got top 4 and thought 'yeah but we're here on default because Spurs and Liverpool were shit this season.'
They dont give a fuck.
Each season is unique.
Thats why this points tally refering to previous seasons pisses me off. It doesn't mean anything.

lukas poldoski did the same too...once a scum always a scum.. I guessed they trained that mentality well..

while I don't wish for the same small-time mentality to be done to our players, I do hope Poch can grind in some serious winner mentality for next season..

He was a twat. But ?Wiltshire 'singing' and some who held up banners, are the ones I refer to. Its the ethos that mattersa. They have been told, and so believe they are better than us. That pervades They are stronger mentally than us and that Poch must change that.

I agree

But our 'success' of this season is still not something we can rest on laurels about, those 4 teams will be upgrading massively this summer to make up for this year so we cant stand still, or we are in for a rude awakening next season

Disappointed in you Drexl. I expected something really controversial, like 'the players should be shot and then burnt at the stake'.

I would rather they did to be honest. Kane needs to learn to stop playing for himself but for the team.
His greediness at times has cost us points (just 1 assist all season).
Don't mind him shooting when theres nothing else on but not when there are teammates in far better positions.
For some reason he's failing to understand that the occasional pass would make him less predictable and harder to defend against. Poch needs to get that overly selfish streak he's developed out of him for next season.
Can't have it all, it's the same attitude that got him the goals against Liverpool, Arsenal and West Ham etc

But wasn't that down to injuries? I remember Mabbutt and Stevens both got long term injuries plus I'm sure both Mark Bowen and Ian Crook had to play in those last few games
