A couple of thoughts.

Something doesn't add up with the Nagelsmann reports. They're saying that he won't consider it without knowing who the DOF is so we have walked away as we don't have one yet.

But then they say that Slot is favourite but won't join until after the DOF. Why not just wait until the DOF is here then and see who he recommends?

Also I've seen lots of people say they don't want a Kompany because of the City links but Slot who seems to be the current darling of the forum has been sacked from one job for talking to other clubs and is now batting his eyelids at the premier League not even a week after winning the title and if you believe the reports I read in the week he wanted to go to Leeds earlier this season. Loyalty doesn't seem to be his thing.

I'm not saying I don't want Slot but for those that didn't want a Kompany or Alonso for that reason surely you're looking at Slot and wondering how quickly he would try and leave should he do ok and someone higher up the food chain came calling.
i think you're right to point out some double standards when people say Kompany will leave for better because Slot is doing the same.

I guess the big factor is he isn't loyal to any club and may not have ambitions to coach United or City, for example yet.

You could also say Slot has a lot to prove before those clubs would even consider him.

Id also add that Poch was happy to ditch Southampton for us and was not rejecting those United stories so we may have to accept our place in the 'food chain'.

I think those are worries for another day.

Additionally if someone like Slot is being targeted by someone higher in the food chain it means we are very doing well.

Anyone else just sick to death of this whole pantomime? It’s interminable, everything about following this club is a slog at the moment. When a new manager eventually gets appointed instead of happy and optimistic, I’ll just be relieved that is finally over. A microcosm of the season really
Clearly everyone’s just fed up and irritated by the whole process. Threw out a talking point that I thought was fair and worth a positive discussion yesterday and got 8 negs off the back of it.

Former #Tottenham player Rafael Van Der Vaart speaking to Studio Voetbal on Arne Slot:

"I do know Tottenham really wants him. They asked what I thought of him. You know what I think of him, he squeezed out the maximum, Feyenoord is so stable. Even today, after they found out and partied all week.”

That’s pretty good itk, cheers Rafa!

Dragon on COYS - not long to wait now, it seems.

Nagelsman was our top choice and then there was firm interest in psg coach and slot

nagelsman wanted a lot of control and assurances re dof so talks broke down , the psg coach then had the racism scandal in France and so that left slot

levy was genuinely shocked yesterday at the abuse and may be able to relinquish more control so I would not be shocked if talks were reopened with nagelsman , if you recall in summer of2021 talks with conte broke down but then he was our manager 3 months later i could foresee this happening here

if it does not slot will be our manager the week after the Leeds game he wants the job
club did not want to announce anything and undermine mason

tbh I want to just enjoy going to the games again and getting excited about watching us, falling in love with the club again, as sad as it sounds from a bloke who is to turn 50 in a couple of weeks, but I get the feeling Slot would do that, both from a football perspective but also from the point of someone representing our club to the media and outside world..

Levy was genuinely shocked? He's more out of touch than I thought.

let's hope this is concluded asap, other clubs have deals happening. We need to get moving

https://www.fr12.nl/nieuws/slot-geeft-via-zaakwaarnemer-jawoord-aan-spurs-woensdag-gesprek
This article on FR 12 (the largest Feyenoord fan-site since 2007) the headline says : ''Slot says yes via his agent , this wednesday talks''

''Rafaela Pimenta will talk to Feyenoord next week. According to De Telegraaf, the agent of trainer Arne Slot is fully set on a move for trainer Arne Slot. Pimenta has been in talks with Tottenham for some time behind the scenes and has given the London club the yes on behalf of Slot. Pimenta will talk to general manager Dennis te Kloese to discuss the amount of his pay off.
Slot has a continuous contract with Feyenoord until mid-2025. The team from Rotterdam can negotiate firmly about the transfer fee, since there are no clauses in his contract for next summer. The morning newspaper also reports that the club is seriously considering the possibility that Slot wants to take some members of his staff with him '

So for our new managerial position we are choosing between the man who won the Dutch title, the man who who would have won the Bundesliga title had he still been there and the man who just won the French title.
On the face of it that doesn't seem bad does it?

.
That point re levy being out of touch is exactly what I was thinking. If it gets to the stage where the most hardcore of our fans, the away fans, are calling for you to leave then you know you have really fucked up.

To hear the Brentford fans chanting for him to stay says so much. Yea they did it for "banter" but like we have done similar with chants about opposition managers it's testament to how badly they are viewed and how much you realise it's better for your club if other clubs have such poor staff in place.

If he was shocked into action based on Saturday just imagine what could be achieved if there was full scale protest / campaign against him.

I can’t understand this at all to be honest. If this had come out a few weeks ago maybe - but why all of a sudden yesterday? He’s been getting ‘abuse’ for weeks.
Strikes me as more bullshit released to try and bring the fans back on side - ultimately there will be no change with levy - he’s too pig headed and arrogant - you can tell from his demeanour (also have some experience around the stadium build)
He is an utter control freak - that will not change.
The only reason he will change his thinking will be to do with £££ - and even then the change will be to suit his own agenda.
Don’t confuse the upturn with Poch as ‘by design’
It was pure luck that levy fell on his feet - and now he wants it again with a new manager - if he genuinely knew how to get it back a decision would be made with someone like slot already - not still flirting with the big names!

The money people have spent over the last 3 seasons to watch boring and motionless Football, should come as no shock to DL when the fans react this way.

The idea of Levy being shocked yesterday confirms to me that he is surrounded by yes men, unwilling to explain to him honestly how it really is. Either that or they are all completely oblivious. Not sure which is more terrifying.
