Very interesting wording from Mason again post match, especially this part:
I think everyone is quite clear on the direction we would like to go” that to me ladies and gents is a crumb of comfort because I’m reading that and his other comments as well as Kanes that we need to return to the high energy, attacking, brave, possession based style of play that we had under Poch and that the fans want to see. Let’s see but that to me gives me a small bit of confidence that we will hopefully target a simile style of manager to Slot 🤞🤞🤞

When you say huge decisions for this football club, what do you mean by that?

A manager. (laughs). Honestly, I think as I said we probably need to understand where we want to go and who we want to be and that's the most important thing. Once you decide that then you can employ the people that fit that and then I think everyone is quite clear on the direction we would like to go. We have quite big squad. Whoever is in charge in pre-season, there are a lot of players and decisions to make. Ultimately I think we need to get back to who we want to be, who our fans want us to be and then going forward we will have better results on a more consistent basis.”

Fine if people don’t want Mason I get that but thinking Levy will ‘walk all over him’ is just such a wrong way to look at it.

Levy could/would be guided by him on a clearly aligned vision for the club and team on the football side. Ryan could work ‘with’ Levy and the new DofF and he’s already said it’s very important we sort out the loans and squad size, Ryan is a clever young man and he’s spoken in recent pressers about the mistakes the club has made and what we need to change, this idea that he’d be a ‘yes man’ or ‘walked all over’ is absolutely so wrong.

Too inexperienced sure I get that argument 💯 but no way he’d be walked all over, not a chance and we need someone to work ‘with’ levy and the new DofF on a new vision and project not to ‘challenge’ him like
Conte and Jose supposedly were here to do.
Of course levy will walk all over him

Mason won’t get near a PL job if he were manager and it went badly wrong which means he has a weak hand from the start knowing he can’t afford to mess things up

Conte left us in the lurch and cowardly walked away - his pathetic brand of football it was clear for all but the blind to see the position was false and the deck of cards was falling away as the side unravelled it was a disaster waiting to happen and one that he very much created
...and I think he saw it coming so made that outburst to absolve himself of blame and get away before it happened.

He was right in what he said but he was using it for his own personal gain.

He massively went down in my estimations.

The dumb thing is, he didn't need to say it, most of us have been saying it for years

Clock's ticking.

Every day now without a manager is a day less that manager has to plan and prepare.

That is not a trivial thing. Our standards for players and managers are sky high - standards for the executives should also be that high. The club needs to be better here. They need to be held to account. I have defended the club, ENIC, the Board, Levy in the past but harsh critiscm needs to be levelled where it is due.

We need an appintment ASAP.

Arteta had even less managerial experience than Mason currently does. Given that the list is rapidly dwindling, I’d infinitely rather Mase than someone the club clearly doesn’t rate again. If we don’t have candidate that enthuses, one who’s enthusiastic about us would be a pretty nice substitute.

Mason would have the excuse of inexperience, whereas for the last few it’s been what, stubbornness?
Mason has also been sitting behind what 3/4 different managers while the club is in disarray. Hardly a good grounding for anyone.

Where as Arteta was learning from the best of this current era imo.

Who’s considering him as manager? The club or a couple of reactionary fans on a site with thousands of members?

I know Alasdair Gold has mentioned this a few times, but it's a really poor show that Mason gets shoved out in front of the media to answer for the club as a whole. The bit I've highlighted in red... I know I'm reading too much into it as Mason's not involved in discussions at board level, but fundamentally it really does seem like the club simply doesn't know this.

Are there plans? Are there appointments in the works? Is there a list of managers in a clear order who play aggressive attacking football that we're working our way down as candidates fall by the wayside for whatever reason?

Is this what it's like at other clubs? Setting aside how rarely other clubs go months without a manager, when it happens do they make some effort to communicate with the fans why, and what they're doing to try and make sure that the house is built on solid foundations?

We're just talking about it because we've exhausted every other area of conversation.

None of us are in the room where the decisions are being made. I think if he were a leading candidate the ITKs would be a lot more vocal.

To be fair to Mason he does say the right things, he hasn’t had much time to work with them as such also not his players and that but he’s worked with some of the best, Kane definitely seems to enjoy it more with him.

However, it’s a massive risk but I think I’d rather just give it to him if we are appointing a stop gap like Ange/Nuno as they will fail anyways so we may as well fail with Mason in charge as such as at least he knows the club and we won’t really be doing all this again in 6 months and reappointing him again.

Need the DOF too.

Let's hope there's stuff that people have not been privy too and we are actually further ahead than what it looks like.

I'd expect some noises and links this week, if not then I'll start to get concerned we have no clue.

Very very good style of play and personality, why not excited mate?

Tbh I don’t think we’ll get him but I hope we do. I think he’s next best fit after Slot (assuming we can’t get JN or De Zerbi).

i think you’re over egging the style of play… and lest we forget the quality of that league is very poor. Personality is incredibly subjective so I don’t put as much store on that as you.

I think he’s a huge risk and I’m sceptical/cynical about why he is being considered.

One thing that is positive about him though is how he talks about the game. He seems to have a clear idea about how he wants to play which of course is in the front foot.

All these posts are making me laugh...snip

but apparently it's absolutely fine to constantly post that Levy is a "bald ****", "fucking chrome dome gnome" or whatever myriad descriptions of his physical appearance people come up with.

This place has gone absolutely off the edge this year.

This absolutely killed me 🤣 🤣 🤣

Crazy idea, but if we were to give it to Mason I wonder if we could get someone like Jan Vertonghen or McDermott back as the link

Monumental cock up by levy the micro-manager. I do feel this is possibly the biggest moment in spurs history under Enic. As was quoted when poch left ‘shit or get off the pot’
4 years of hovering over the pan has created our current situation. Daniel: loosen the reins or see us bomb -,JN or bust in my eyes
