Tuchel is not the same as Jose or Conte for mine. He is tactically so different. I get the anti-chelsea argument but he actually plays attacking football and improves players.

For what it's worth, I would love Ange - both as an Aussie and on a pure football spectacle. His football is amazing on the eyes.

I moved to Brisbane end of 2010 when Ange was doing his stuff at Brisbane Roar. Went on to win with the national team & in Japan before going to Celtic. Great coach. I'm not sure the board have got the guts to replace Conte with him though

I guess the hiring of Tuchel poses a bit of a problem if Harry decides he’s had enough.
Tuchel considers himself in the category of ‘elite manager’ and for him to have to watch his star player walk out and be replaced by either nobody or someone far inferior, it’s not getting things off to a good start.

This is going to sound a little harsh, but Poch really should have made this a no-brainer imo. The fact that its even a debate is down to the fact that since his time with us, he has not cemented his obvious talent elsewhere.

There were mitigating factors at PSG of course...Leonardo by all accounts was not easy to deal with, the superstar players presented a huge challenge in coaching/motivating/challenging them and the continuous scrutiny by the owners was overbearing at times.

With all that said, it was still a significant failure not to win the league that first season. I watched a significant number of games and I'd say that the style of football was good and he had a good rapport with his players, however they rarely took full control of games. I cannot recalll many games where they really steamrolled the opposition. At times, they played some great football, but it wasn't the swashbuckling carefree stuff that a team with their talents should have shown on a regular basis.

Moreover, in that season:

1.. the football was good but not stellar
2. usage of the full squad was questionable (particularly subs during the game)
3. I don't recall him using many younger players or improving existing players (that may say more about my memory more than anything else!)

Point really is that, although they were better in the following season ( his first full season....and of course won the league), as data points go, Im not sure he's shown anything overly compelling for him to be re-hired.

Imo, it SHOULD be a no-brainer, and yet it doesn't feel that way to me.
But you have to remember that managers, Conte with us included, have this bizarre 6 -18 month period where all we hear is it's not his players, needs time to adjust his players, train tactics etc....

PSG is genuinely a case of you don't pick the players and he had a front 3 ( plus Rabiot ?) that won't press or are play in a free role. They just aren't suited to Poch.

I wonder would the Fulham manager excel with us.? Otherwise let’s get Neil Warnock !!! His sides played nice football. Otherwise put a list of all the leagues in Europe together and start marking which managers have finished in 4th position the most. The one with the most 4ths is our man.

Sack Conte today and get Poch in as Interim, as he is available. He loves the club and know many of the players and i am sure the players will get a boost with him coming in. Let him see out the season and if its a success then give him a contract in summer. If not then go for someone else, and we can move on.

Eitherway Conte needs to fuck off asap!
I don't think that Poch would take the job as an interim.

He also told Leeds he didn’t want to join a team mid season when they approached him recently.

Think there is a difference joining Leeds mid season and joining us with 12 games. With us season is over so will just be like a pre season. With Leeds he needed to keep them in the league

We need to let Ryan Mason have a go until the end of the season. He knows the club very well and understands what the fans need. In the meantime, think of a long term strategy for football. However, most importantly, book another flight for Conte to return to Italy tonight.

Tuchel would be pointless. The squad requires too much work and Tuchel is far too combustible. He’d have fallen out with Levy and half the squad by Christmas.

Recently signed for hiddledfield so will have a release clause. So that rules him out

Yea I would have wanted him 3 years ago but feel it will go the same way as now
