What are peoples thoughts on Vincent Kompany.... Personally I think it's a bit too soon for him but he's doing an incredible job with Burnley not just in terms of results but their whole playing style has been transformed.

We already have Yaya Toure in our academy set-up so could there be potential in a Kompany/Toure link up to bring attacking football back to the lane?

The way we get through managers i'm thinking he'll get a turn at some point.

I wouldn't be greatly enthusiastic, similar to reasons I didn't like the idea of Gerrard a while back. Too early I think but also if he doesn't hit the ground running you'd immediately question whether he has the credentials. I get that it's a risk you can potentially reap rewards from but I don't think it's a risk we have to take.

I don’t want to fantasise too much because my mind is telling me to expect Tuchel or Poch but I would be much happier with Gallardo.

That's a new name that hasn't been discussed in this thread...

One thing I found out today about Gallardo is that he doesn’t speak English to any passable level so I see that massively counting against him. Especially considering the comments Levy made following the Ramos sacking…

Looking at all the players on our books, and considering we don't have an endless budget, one or two quality signings and a new manager could have us lining up as a 4-2-3-1 like this next season - with Porro and Udogie playing as attacking full backs like Walker and Rose used to;

Loris (or new GK)
Porro Romero New LCB Udogie
Skipp Bentancur
Richie Maddison Son
Kane

I think there are options such as playing Deki in the No. 10 (or instead of Richie) or Bentancur (good presser and passer) and dare I say it even Ndombele (he doesn't press well, but if you gave him a free role he has the ability to unlock a lot of defences in that position)

Hes been studying English for a while now because he knows it will likely be needed for his next job. There is a recent article posted a number of pages back by @Ossie85. He also speaks French which at least suggest he's comfortable with other languages. The fact he was on our list in 21 and Trix mentioned he was on our list now would suggest we aren't too concerned about it. At least not concerned enough to leave him off.

Okay. That’s reassuring to read.

Take Porro as an example, will he play like Walker did for us or Trippier? Trippier hasn't become better after he left us, he's just not been exposed as Poch demand full backs that are both in attack and defence. In other words are fast and has an insane engine. Trippier did not, got hate and ridicule from Spurs fans because he was out of position or not settled in shape when under pressure.

Porro reminds me of Trippier a bit

Always, always remember… things could be so much worse

That’s just weird. Ainsworth has a big ask there never mind doing that kind of thing. One look at that group of players tells me they won’t last long under him though. He demands proper characters and men.

After Feyenoord just destroyed Shakhtar 7-2, I wonder if Arne Slot will start getting some attention from prospective clubs other than Leeds.

Perhaps what would really be telling is if they played either Arsenal or Utd in the next round and how tactically he fares coming up against Arteta and Ten Hag but he's gaining a reputation that's for sure.
