I'd love for it to be Gallardo or De Zerbi under new ownership. I believe the energy and fresh ideas would lead us into a new era well.

Too bad it won't happen

I want Conte backed and he sign the new contract and get Kane stay

But as things stand, I am pessimistic on both front.

We can go 2 ways :

Instant managers - tried and failed approach. Failed mainly because we didn't back them enough.
  1. Tuchel - I dont like him
  2. Zidane - he wont come to us
Thats about it.

Project based managers - tried and failed approach. Failed mainly because we didn't back them enough.
  1. De Zerbi - Was top of Paratici list, but FP took over he accepted Shaktar job. Would cost lots of $$$ to Brighton
  2. Ruben Amorim - One of the bright managers in Europe. Sporting paid a 15m€ clause to get him from Braga and he has already repaid them with title win & 2 CL campaign. Plays 3-4-3.
  3. Vincent Kompany - Took over a shit Burnley, within a preseason with almost no investment got them playing exciting football. At present, Burnley are on track for 100pt finish. Already the top scorers in all 4 english divisions. Of all recent PL pros, he is the one showing world class managerial ability.
  4. Gallardo -Transformed Riverplate , now contract ended. But doesnt speak English. Not sure
Next manager selection really comes down to :
i) Conte and or Kane staying ?
ii) If they leave, what is the club plan ?

If Kane is staying but Conte is leaving, we may have to go for a instant manager again and try win something. If both leave, regardless going back to basics is the way out. Build it from the bottom up and hope it works this time.

It was reported by Fabrizio in one of those early 2021 managerial search updates during the Nuno appointment chaos. He was primarily looking at Italian manager space. But by the time, FP took over the role in July 2021, De Zerbi was appointed Shaktar 25 May 2021 . 10 days later, we got news that Paratici is taking over. There was also report that Paratici did check with De Zerbi - he declined as he already accepted the role

If this is what we are doing can we add Gallardo to the list please. Although i feel its a little premature and we need to actually back the manager we have.

Any other time i'd have taken Tuchel.

But no more Chelski managers, please.
Ive no problem with managers from them, they more than often hire the best there is (Lampard excluded) The issue is what we do when we get them here.

The Tuchel/Nagelsmann style would've worked well at Spurs.

Changing managers and keeping the same players is madness

And if the plan is to change managers it should have been done over the WC break to give the new manager a chance at rebuilding in January.

And it would be insane that this would be the 4th consecutive year we ended with a different manager than we started. That is the sign of a poorly run club, where the manager is the least of the problems.

Give me consistency and stability over the constant chaos of change - that, by the way, hasn’t worked.

Irrelevant, we will be in the same place again in 18 months unless the thinking and spending above the managers head changes.

wtf is this abomination????

another manager just means another way of failing because what's fundamentally wrong won't be changed, even if we get the outside investment. until that changes it's a pointless conversation.

Conte. Because we need stability and need to stick with it (if he is committed himself). Arsenal did that with Arteta and look what's happened there.

I know this is going to sound really petty but i dont want him for the sole reason that during our Home match against them the commentators alluded to the fact that at times he was hiding behind his hands, unable to look at the game because the pressure was getting too much. I fear what watching Sanchez, Lloris and Dier on a weekly basis would do to the mans health if this is the case!

Next manager is Poch. I'll be shocked if it isn't but Levy's gonna Levy so we better get used to it.

Best escapologist since Houdini!!

Can we lock this now? :)

How about he shows some enthusiasm to be here and commit to a longer term then maybe the players could stop going through the motions and we could back him?
The next manager will be in the same shitty position within 18 months how about we back our current manager and end this cluster fuck of a merry go round
