Play mid diamond (i know) with two up front. Or a narrow 442

Wing backs are attacking. Crosses and cutbacks key here so same issues as now however Udogie (and poss Porro) would help that.

Require a holding mid (PEH for us although this looks vital here so would need to be upgraded).

Includes a playmaker. We are missing this. Possibly Kane could do the job but we would almost certainly need to invest here.

Defence almost certainly a back four. So need to invest heavily here. Not going to lie they look to be left pretty isolated when we attack so we would be very exposed to a counter.

Possession orientated so need better technical players (im looking at PEH again) as we would see much more of the ball. Bentancur would fit the bill perfectly.

Front players constantly pressing when opposition in their own half. Richy, Kulu, Son? and Bentancur suited to this. Leaves a ? over Kane however he can drop a bit deeper. The formation requires high energy up top or it doesnt work so there might have to be tweaks to fit him in.

Would be very pretty on the eye however without good investment in the right areas it would fall over. So with Levy in charge I back him to be sacked in 2 years. Would be fun attacking football though so I'm in.

Meh - Levy should appoint himself and remove any doubt that he’s the puppet master.

so done with this club under him

Tuchel is a good coach and it’d be fun to see him calling Levy out like Conte is doing right now.
No more bloody ex Chelsea thank you.

Also his football at Chelsea was pretty dull. I do like him as a person though and he is a top class manager for sure.

For me it’s simple just get poch back and give him what he wants, after what he did for us on a shoestring budget he deserves a 2nd chance for ‘unfinished business’ BUT we need a seriously good DofF to keep him right on the player recruitment.

I have always wanted Conte to stay, but its pretty pointless if we expect him to progress while our lesser players are not being improved on.
If he goes nothing will change, Levy will not change his ways, he has proved this time after time, the only thing that possibly changes everything is outside investment and Levy being taken away from all football roles.

Agree. I’m approaching apathy at this point. Can’t walk away from supporting this club but have given up on doing anything of note with Levy in charge. The number of wasted opportunities in the past 10 years is utterly depressing. Been cycling through the stages of grief: …denial…anger…bargaining… approaching acceptance but I’m sure there’s more anger and depression ahead?

I want Poch back. The highs were fantastic - the best time I've had watching Spurs in my lifetime, and we were by miles the best team in the country over a two year period.

I thought it went bad at the end because it had all gone stale and hope that with the time that has passed and the fact that it is a mostly a different set of players will mean it will be a fresh start.

I am concerned that if he comes back and it doesn't go well that it will tarnish my/our feelings about him, and I want a DOF alongside him (but not the crook currently in place). But I also want those good vibes back.

And also, we kinda just need to get this over and done with. Poch coming back has been in the air for at least 2-3 years and even if it does go badly, at least we will be able to move on.

Maybe if we have to embark on a new project - Kompany should be in the conversation for how he has Burnley playing.

I think he'd have to be in the conversation for any Premier league club to be honest. Can see him taking over from Pep if he does well when Burnley come back up.

I really want Conte to stay as I think that's the key to us being successful. If he does go we are going to see another season of 'rebuilding' and Kane will likely follow.

So if that were to happen, my choice would have to be Poch. I get what people say, hes recruitment was not the best and he does have hes floors. I would have liked more of the 'old guard' gone before he's return as well.

Positives, we played some of the best football for 2 years. I'd like to see what he could do with Spence, Udogie, Bissouma, Skipp and Sarr.

I just want to see some entertainment back and that 'feel good' factor to return.

Why is Antonio Conte still the manager of our football club exactly?

no idea… seems lots of fans on here though enjoy being bored shitless by his crap conte-ball football week in, week out.

so blinded they are by their anti levy agenda, they cannot see that Conte is more of the problem right now than the owners or the squad…

I would like Conte to stay and build something here....

but... my choice for next manager....... Diego Simeone

ok, hear me out...

I am getting really tired of playing "pretty" football. Simeone team is usually a "dirty" side, they tackle hard, and they use any means to win a game. we will be hated for our style of play, but who really cares?

I think this physical approach will work well in the English game. Atletico has been pretty constant in the few seasons under him.

he also favors a back 4, usually a variation on the 4-4-2 (4-2-2-2, 4-2-3-1, 4-2-2-1-1) which is something we should be able to go back to quite comfortably.

We cannot compete financially with the other teams around us, but we can change the way we play to make us more difficult to beat.

Isn't he just as boring as Conte and Mourinho and Nuno were? No thank you from me.

Sorry to hear people wanting Poch back. We get Hollywood script writer quotes like he's got 'Unfinished business' and general sentimental reminiscing over 2015-6 and how great it was.

For me, Poch arrived with a new variation on the high press which was innovative. It worked great (along with a few fortunate player developments like Kane)...until clubs worked out how to counter it or develop their own versions.
and then Poch's moment was gone.

Top clubs (bar Villa) are steering clear of him. There's a reason for this.

Poch is Levy catnip. He can come for free, prolly for a cheap wage ... there's a strong sentimental faction among the fans who will forget Levy misdemeanours in the nostalgic love-in of his return and Levy can continue his reign of aiming for top 6 without pressure from his head coach...Perfect !

So I'm almost certain Poch will be coming by the summer, but am less thrilled than many here.

Bielsa's the man.
If he doesn't take on Everton.
High press, all action, his own man, eccentric one off.
I wanted him post Mourinho
and I still want him.
Argentinian credentials and contacts
Would ride rough-shod over Levy
which is why he won't get the job.

Bielsa Bielsa
there's nobody elsa

No more ex-Chelsea managers please.
Why not, AVB and Conte both did reasonably well for us. Moutinho is still good, imagine him in his prime when AVB wanted him instead of Baldini's players. It's more about building around whoever is next manager and giving them what they need to succeed. Pep could struggle more than Dyche with our lack of technical players that he needs for his system, and his success would depend on moving the deadwood.

Yep exactly. We need a good manager...where he has come from is irrelevant. 'No more Chelsea exmanagers' is pure mindless slogan with no place in serious management recruitment policy.
