Give the job to someone young, with fresh ideas who isn’t immediately expected to win a load just because they have elsewhere.

No more chequebook managers

Gallardo, De Zerbi, someone of that mould.

Yell them that were tight in terms of spending on really big name players. We won’t go out and buy ready made stars.

Tell them that honestly their best bet is to bring people up from the youth teams and work with them.

Transfers will be to a set profile, an age limit, a wage limit and a resell optional value.

Ask whichever manager you employ if they have any thoughts on a DOF. Someone they know of, feel they would work well with.

Ask the two of them to set up proper scouting networks so that we can replace you g players like for like if others come in and buy them.

Admit that even though we don’t like the thought of selling our best players, Levy is all about the money and will probably do so eventually.

Admit that due to repeatedly fucking ourselves with terrible decisions and poor planning our main target is just to make it to the champions league, anything else is a bonus.

Play open, attacking, front foot football, let the fans enjoy coming to games for the first time in nearly five years.

Work on a basis of youth, energy, and people who actually WANT to be at this club.

Allow us to enjoy some of the above until ENIC hopefully fuck off and buy an investment somewhere else.

I know there are many reasons why Poch may not be the best choice to return right now, but man, I for one will chuffed to pieces for the guy. He loves us more than any manager I have ever seen and I wouldn't be surprised if there's not a tear or two.

Best name on the list IMO, but he can do better than us, and his wife prefers warm weather apparently. Messi said him and Pep are 2 best coaches he ever had and Pep respects him a lot. De Zerbi would be most fun to watch.

Part of me would be surprised if he went to Chelsea. But then again, lots of ex-Chelsea managers have managed us. It's quite possible Poch goes to Chelsea, and we hire Potter.
Just once I want one of our castoffs to go to Chelsea and fuck them over.

I really dont want it to be Marco Silva. Cant be arsed with another dour, sulky figure around the place even though i respect what hes done as a coach.

Yeah don't think he is the answer.

Very good coach but his level is Fulham or teams that are well run but not with a lot of expectation.

His time at Everton was a mess, and came about because he flirted with the job after only a few months at Watford.

Hiring a proper manager like Tuchel or Enrique (if he would be interested at all, lol) is what a proper football club would do, but only a madman could think it would end differently than it did with Jose and Conte. There is no point in taking another 'proper' manager without changing club's attitude - which won't happen as long as ENIC/Levy are here.

Bringing Poch back or hiring project manager like De Zerbi or even Gallardo is like 'hey we're officialy cool with playing for 5-6th with occasional 4th place/cup runs, but at least we play entertaining football now'.

I'll take the latter and pray takeover happens.

"Managing director of football Fabio Paratici has been heavily involved in the process of pinpointing options"

"Tottenham have engaged in due diligence on sporting directors so they are potentially priming for more than a managerial change"

What happens if the new sporting director doesn't like/get on with the manager the old sporting director helped select?

We can just pin this thread to the top of Spurs Chat, because we will be needing it again soon.

Tuchel would typify Daniel Levy's inability to learn lessons and run a football club. A big name for Levy to gush over but not support. He has us following a Chelsea model only without the money.

It would literally be every mistake he’s ever made wrapped up in one handy appointment.

I think this puts too much of a negative weighting on the "Project manager" option. We've seen ourselves how that can yield much more than the occasional 4th spot, maybe the next time round we manage to nab a trophy also. To me getting a project manager is aiming for more like 3rd-5th, and at the same time instilling a footballing identity which we've been lacking for 3 years (lacking a good one anyway). There's nothing wrong with this in the intermediate term, we are not city or newcastle or even united in terms of resources.

As you say, anyone who thinks trying a jose/conte type route for the third time will not yield different results.
