Naglesmann is the only one that actually gets me excited, I was all for poch coming back but as soon as Nagelmann became available he was the clear 1st choice, I really hope we can get him. If we land him I think he will bring a buzz back to the place unlike kompany, slot or anyone else that has been linked.

It will be Slot, for one massive reason that’s nothing to do with football……he will be cheaper.
I think he will be less demanding when it came to transfers. Not that I think JN would be asking for expensive players but I think he’d expect a certain amount of backing in order to compete.

Got to say tho, if Nagelsmann wants to come (and we still don’t know if that’s the case) I would be disappointed if we went with Slot.

D1:

Things change daily but right now it’s a Toss up between Arnie slot and Nagelsman , I know the media are focused on nagelsman but slot still has a very good chance the board love what he has done at feyernord

re Poch Daniel and other board members will just not budge they know he may well end up at Chelsea now and they have heard the fans singing but they still are not swayed
Just cannot understand this. Seems like a really strange line in the sand.

I’m glad they’ve not been swayed tbh, if they’ve decided from the get go that he’s not high on the list (whether you agree or not)then fans singing his name and him maybe going chelsea shouldn’t change that.

If levy wants to win the fans back he will do everything in his power to make Nagalsmann his top priority. On top of that Nagalsmann isn’t someone that wants to be second or third choice. He wants to be no 1 and rightly so! I hope he don’t mess about and just get it done. If levy can pay Conte and mourinho 15m a year, than he will have no issue paying what Julian wants.

We know where this ends. The cheap option.

Then scratching around again by November.
If it's to be Slot it won't be because he's cheaper. That's such a myth. We just had two highly paid managers. Levy will stump up the money for Nagelsmann if he wants to join.

It's one area that Levy doesn't skimp on.

Not that I agree with he levy is tight stereotype fully.

This sounds concerning with our team. You can see this definitely happening if he sets us up the same way, especially with no Bentancur until the winter.

Players don’t have any options

This mainly happened during the first few matches this season. The player on the ball moves into the midfield, while no-one is making themselves available to receive the next pass. Or, the other players start to move too late and are therefore not in position at the moment the pass has to be played.

During later matches this problem hardly occurred in the fashion it did during the first couple of matches. The only issue relating to this that still arises is a lack of options between the lines for the central defenders, which prohibits them from finding players between the lines.

The ball isn’t played through the lines (or in behind) while the option to do so is present

I think this is one of the main issues coaches run into when trying to implement a new possession-based style of play. In the past, players have learned not to take too many risks, which causes them to be averse to play line breaking passes (which have a high risk of being intercepted).

However, when playing a possession-based style of play, a team at times attracts more risks when they don’t play these types of passes. As they don’t play forwards, they hardly create anything themselves and attract the pressure by the opponents.

Another problem Feyenoord have in this respect is that their first team squad is very small. Behind the first eleven players there are hardly any substitutes that are able to replace them on a similar level. With Feyenoord having to sell a lot of players and lacking financial resources to get adequate replacements. Therefore, their bench is usually made up by mostly youth academy players.

When these players have to start by replacing an injured first team player, it’s normal for them to a) not have the same qualities on the ball as the injured player and b) feel somewhat nervous due to a lack of experience on this level. Which causes them to be avoidant of playing line breaking passes, especially from the back.

For example, Senesi was injured against Go Ahead Eagles and had to be replaced by Wouter Burger (who has left Feyenoord since) and the game after by Ramon Hendriks. Both played somewhat decent games, but were hesitant to play line breaking passes, causing Feyenoord’s build-up over the left side to be quite stagnant.

Technical mistakes

Similarly, by not having played this type of football before, players often lack certain technical skills which are required to execute this at 100%. Mistakes that can often be noticed are a poor body orientation, players not being able to pass or receive with their weak foot, and players not turning with the ball while there is nobody pressing them.

In addition, certain players also have a poor first touch, which requires them to take an extra touch before being able to play on. As it takes longer for the player on the ball to execute the next action, the defenders have more time to be able to close down the player with the ball. Especially Pederson, the right fullback, often has trouble with his first touch. “
There is inevitably going to be a bit of a painful transition when the new coach comes in, whoever it is as the players are at a bit of a low point and they are likely going to have to adopt a more/far more possession style of football, so even with a preseason, we are going to have to be patient as fans.

I still think the board will plump for Nagelsmann due to him being more high profile and better for the club brand.

Ironically Slot would likely be more expensive to begin with as Feyenoord will surely want a lot more compensation than Bayern.

Nagelsmann would be on much bigger wages than Slot ofc, but still probably only about half or, at most, two thirds of what Conte was on.

Regardless, money has never been an obstacle for Levy when it comes to managers.

Yeah we would have to pay compensation. They would be extremely amenable to it tho as they are still paying him. Can’t see it being a big fee.
With him walking away from Chelsea and Ancelotti apparently staying on at Madrid, it doesn't seem like there'll be a bidding war with Bayern for Nagelsmann - unless PSG take an interest, of course.

Hopefully this doesn't prove to be a stumbling block if the interest is genuine on both sides.

I'm afraid I have to completely disagree with this sorry. Daniel deserves criticism for a lot of footballing matters but paying very good money to get top managers isn't one of them. Conte was paid very handsomely, and if we can get Nagelsmann (which looks a genuine possibility), he would also be paid very well.

I would be delighted with either of Nagelsmann & Slot. I just have this strange feeling that Slot would do an incredible job and I want a manager who is desperate to manage us. I feel Levy will push for Nagelsmann though. He's wanted him a couple of times before and it's not often a manager like Nagelsmann is available when you're looking for a new manager. Levy will also feel he has a far greater chance of keeping Kane if he can get Nagelsmann in. Interesting few weeks ahead but delighted the club seem to have finally identified the right kind of manager for the style of football we have all been screaming out for.
