We just want to play attacking football and for teams to not know we play attacking football so they don't set up a low block and then let us win. Much like what Klopp gets upset about when teams don't just open up and attack Liverpool.
Klopp has had to change his methods this season, has more than one way to break down a low block. Everyone on here will be moaning their asses off in December if we’re facing Everton and our play is one-dimensional m

They don't need their heads checked. I know I don't speak for everyone, but it certainly feels like there's a massive disconnect between all constituent parts of the club: board, DOF, manager, players, fans.

That's a personality trait that we've been missing - and people are allowed to judge characters based on how they come across in television interviews. He gives me a feeling that he could be that sort of guy that knits it all together; who talks warmly about a football club, about his life etc. More than anything this appointment needs to fuse everything together so I actually think personality type is huge in this.
Completely agree with this mate, I think it is really important always but especially in this next appointment for us to as you say fuse us together or galvanise and unite the club, fans, players together etc.

Well, hopefully if we are playing Everton in December, it means we have advanced pretty far in the League Cup...

My concerns regarding Slot may also be because he has limited personnel who maybe can’t adapt to another method, it’s impossible to tell at this stage which is why its a risk

This is so true. That is why I understand the club wanting to go through a thorough interview process with a number candidates. If we're going to go through a cultural reset the personality and character of the manager is just as important as their tactical philosophy. We have tried two demanding 'win now' managers and they have totally fractured the club. That can be partly be repaired by positive football and results but having an affinity with the personality of the manager in charge is a big part of pulling everyone in the same direction. It's what we had with Redknapp, Poch and BMJ.

Yes, that’s a valid point. But I guarantee hardly any of you are watching Feyenoord, so people are dismissing my concerns based on him being a warm personality. Its ONE element of the job. If you want someone with just warm vibes then we might as well just bring back Harry Redknapp. The play style has to be on point too.
True - but you can't certify that for any manager. Conte's Chelsea and Inter were certainly more entertaining than us under Conte - albeit a similar level of "functional" (for a limited while in our case).

With the best will in the world there's going to be some concerns over every manager. For me, with JN, it's personality and youth. With Amorim it's playing style. WIth Luis Enrique it's all a bit too Mourinho/Conte "I'm better than yowwwww".

If they really like Slot (there's a reason he's high up on the list) and he wants to come, then it shouldn't matter who comes available now.

That's your man, don't deviate

There are too many cooks at Spurs, always have been. Just committee after committee.

Nothing if it works. It suggests a lack of of a plan B though. The PL has many more brighter tactical minds than the Dutch league so if you think that will cut the mustard then you’re incredibly naive.
does it - don't watch the Dutch league but there is a lack of tactical difference throughout the premier league very few coaches try anything particularly differently

playing with width and more directly is something very few are prepared to do preferring trying to emulate City posession based football - though Newcastle and Le Arse have been more direct using width and that hasn't done them to badly

Unless my antennae is way off, the Slot answers seemed to be more like: “I know more than you do, I’m excited, but I can’t say anymore”. I think he answers those questions a completely different way if it wasn’t a certainty.

This is why we need to sort out the DoF ASAP. I just feel that they don’t really know who they want. I think they really like a few different candidates but are scared of getting it wrong so keep second guessing themselves. They might like Slot the most but they aren’t 100% sure.

The fact we are doing this all backwards really doesn’t help. We shouldn’t be looking for a manager to come in and instil a club vision, the manager should match the vision of the club.

I know we’ve both said this a lot but until we have a DoF who can help push the club in a certain direction I think Levy, Munn and the board will keep umming and ahing.
