I can see us rolling back to the good old days of Ossie, Gerry Francis and Christian Gross. Any manager worth his salt when sat in the interview will be asking Levy & co what are going to do for me that you didn't do for Poch, Jose or Conte to make me turn around this once great club.

I said weeks ago we will get someone leftfield or be left with Rodgers.

Whoever comes in must be happy that he was the idiot who said yes, when everyone else said no. That kind of situation creates even more doubt for potential candidates.

We shouldn’t be relying on happy accidents. The club should have a proper plan which they clearly don’t. That’s what’s more infuriating than specifically losing out on Slot.
Ah yes, a succession plan. You would have thought the club would have one by now, seeing as how it’s done this a dozen times before, wouldn’t you?

But when it comes to succession, you can’t beat Logan Roy. Frankly, I’d appoint him now, were it not for the slight disadvantage of him being dead. Shame he’s not on life support and only braindead, because at least he could go for the chairman position.

But to use his phrase about my club right now “I love you, but you are not serious people”.

that is official though, I believe there was info that he started working about a month ago.

But doing things behind scenes is v different to being present at meetings. He’ll be serving gardening leave and won’t be able to officially represent spurs in any outside negotiations until he starts.
That aside, our current situation appears to be a Levy special

so we dont appoint the manager we deem to be the best fit over €10m we then spend another say €100m hopefully on signings for a manager who is less of a fit and end up wasting it on players the next next manager wont want when the manager who isnt the best fit inevitably fails.

We are so clever with the way we dont spend like the other clubs. Fucking idiotic wankstain levy.

Why pay compensation, when we can get another nuno for less, then end up paying them more in compensation. 😐

The fact that Slot has come out and spoke to the press must mean that decision is absolutely final - and we haven't even tried to negotiate it. Or we are days behind what's going on, which seems less likely as the summit was yesterday,

Wonder if we tried to play hardball and Feyenoord just called our bluff? They clearly wanted any excuse to keep him.

We probably "walked away" from the Porro deal about 5 times in Jan but since Sporting wanted the money they were happy to play the game.

of all the questions i've asked about spurs over the years one seems to come to the forefront more than most,
are we just... in hell?

Who knows, he may be the Dutch Michael Beale!

I still maintain we need to get a manager in who can get the fans and media on side as well as the players. As much as they seem to not want it, the club needs a feel good factor and we need a character to do that.

If I were poch, I wouldn't come back.

We weren't interested in even talking to him.
At the last game we saw a friend who had just been in Singapore where he had a long chat with Mabbsy, who happened to be checking into the same hotel ,and apparently he said that even at that late stage, Poch would have come to Spurs had we asked him to.

This is becoming a bit of a joke. Maybe if we paid the money to release him, we’d have been less reluctant to sack him when the going got tough. Are there any candidates we actually fancy? I don’t think there any obvious ones anymore.

As usual we lack consistency. Unlike with Nagelsman with didn’t get our denial out in time. Just to confirm. We were never interested in Slot. Or any other manager. We have no interest in talking to anybody or appointing anybody. We have no interest in football in fact. Nothing to see here.

For me they should have paid the compensation for Slot.

Now that ship has sailed I think levy has to go back to JN and bend over backwards for him.

Anything else now will be a let down.

However, I also wouldn't rule Slot out until the extension is 100% confirmed as the bald one might go back with a new and improved offer in an attempt to turn his head

He won't. Levy isn't negotiating a £5 million compensation offer when they want £10 million or £17 million or whatever it was.
