Come off it, we have Winks, Lo Celso and Ndombele to return. They will make Tiki Taka work under Enrique. Everyone loves a comeback story.
You joke, but those three all actually work much better in a midfield three. If Enrique came in, I could see him finding both Winks and LoCelso useful midfielders. Ndombele tho? I think his overall work rate lets him down significantly, although he is a rabbit out the hat kind of player.

I have a feeling it’s Luis Enrique.

I wouldn’t be shocked if the Ange links are journos assuming the reason we haven’t got anyone in is due to us waiting until after Celtics cup final Saturday. Reckon it could be a case of 2+2=5 for them.

Add that to the Napoli chairman’s quotes about Luis Enrique, I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s just randomly announced out the blue.
I’d prefer him to Postecoglou on the proviso he’s fully aware of budget constraints and is up for a project.

A Celtic point of view

Quite a depressing read actually, not because of Ange and his intentions but because it does ring horribly true about the mess we are in and the way we are viewed

If it is him I hope the fixtures are kind early on. With no profile or success behind him, a bad start means the ridicule will begin, Levy will cave and he'll be gone by October. If Nagelsmann is still out of work we could easily see a repeat of the Conte situation where Levy goes back to him in desperation and offers him everything he's refusing to offer now.

I've always thought Enrique was extremely likely as it was pretty clear he was hawking himself around for a job rather than we were really keen on him. It seems this is the only kind of manager we are going to get, one who is out of a job and looking for one.

Firstly, it wasn't just the European Super Cup, which in fact is 2 legs.

He also won the Cup Winners Cup.

What Ferguson achieved at Aberdeen far out ways what Ange has achieved.

On the basis you want Ange, why not Mark Robbins or Kieran McKenna?
Who cares? This example was only used to disprove the ridiculous notion that someone's coaching history must be "comparable to the Premier League".

Ange is the wildcard, Rodgers and Potter are the familiar been there, done that. I don't expect people like you to grasp that.

Well it’s just as likely he will fail spectacularly. I wonder what the pro Ange brigade will say then? “Oh well at least we gave him a chance” or some such bollocks I’d guess.
What will I say if he comes and is a success? I’d openly admit I was as wrong to write him off and take a shellacking. If however I’m proved right I’d be the biggest of Billy’s Bollocks and be straight on here to say I told you so. Just so you know where I’m at.
Wow, that’ll make all the difference then 🤣. With all respect to yourself, maybe we’ll all say well Tonio was right/or wrong and thrash our collective selfs to within an inch? The point is you do not have a crystal ball, are a soothsayer or like Nostradamus. You are like me, some random guy on a chat forum that may think something.

No chance on Winks either but I could see Lo Celso as an option. Enrique I think gets the best out of Bissouma and maybe gives Sarr more minutes. He would take Skipp over Winks I'm sure. I can see him maybe replace Hojbjerg with a playmaker. I don't think he would need a mass overhaul though. I could see him keep the likes of Reguilon and Gil. He seems to be the manager who would suit in terms of what we have in the squad. A few returning loaned players with a few signings. I bet he would take Lenglet on the cheap too. So all in all he would make sense if we're not doing a full rebuild.

The big part of the problem is that any new manager needs to work with the board, so when we see big names passed over it is probably because the board (baldy) have recognised that they will clash and then we will be back to square one in no time at all. So simple choice is a world class coach who will work with what he’s given but not kick up a fuss. The list must be enormous 😒

is what they have achieved domestically that different ? The Dutch league is effectively a 3 horse race. Also given that Slot's team was well beaten by Roma how would they have faired in a tough Champions League group? Of course no one knows but with Celtic its the situation he inherited that is not to dis-similar to the one at Spurs- supporters disenchanted with the board a team that had played poor football - that has turned round completely they have bought into the man and his positivity as much as anything else - I do a bit of work up there and they love him and are desperate not to lose him - I think as a club we need a unifying force after Conte and Mourinho and that is something that he brings
How were they well beaten by Roma….

By that measure, I suppose you would've dismissed Alex Fergusen as an acceptable candidate back in the 80s? After all, coaching Aberdeen in Scotland simply isn't "comparable" to the Premier League.

I don't know, you seem to like Slot. What makes the Eredivisie "comparable" to the Premier League? It depends on how you're going to define comparable.

Eredivisie is ranked 6th by Uefa and 11th in terms of overall team quality in Europe.

Scottish Prem is ranked 9th and 40th - League One in England is ranked 41st, so it’s essentially no different than looking to that league for a quality hire.

His previous leagues in Japan and Australia are currently ranked above the Scottish prem in world football.

We should care after the last few years!

Appointing a wild card as you put it is risky. In any job appointment you look for a track record that the interviewee is capable of what you’re appointing them for. Surely that’s basic common sense?

What convinces you Postecoglou is the right man for the job?

A Celtic point of view

Very much what the kids call ‘Hopium’.

Slot and Nagelsmann have said no, and this fella makes it sound like we’ve been turned down by 20 managers.

If Ange fails here, he would walk back into a job like Celtic in a minute. These Celtic pricks who thought the sky was falling when he was appointed now claim to know him inside out. The bloke has never been afraid to take a risk, nor to leave a club, nor to prove people wrong.

if Spurs make him an offer, he will come.

I’ve seen people getting excited about Ange because there’s a video of him shouting at his team not to pass the ball back.

I have a video of 60000 spurs fans shouting this exact same thing week in week out for the last 4 years.

There's that word again. I'm still waiting for someone to explain what we're risking with Ange that we weren't risking by hiring Conte.

Basic common sense would be not doing what we've been doing for the past 4 years. Basic common sense would entail trying something different, unorthodox.

I've already given you my reasons for why I think Postecoglou is a good choice. It's not my problem to convince you if you can't understand those reasons.
