Transfer windows are so much easier when you trust the people making decisions at your club. I don’t know if he’ll fit, but the important people at the club clearly think he will. That’s all I need.

So I'm quite new here......does it always go this mad over something that hasn't happened yet!? It's not like the ITK os even we have made an offer. It's just talks. And we also all know how paratici likes to have 3 or 4 options pretty progressed before he picks?
No. It’s very sensible on here. Must be the heat

Reading the update from Hotspur 88 in the ticker, and Ali Z - it does sound like there’s a slight possibility of signing both Zaniolo AND Maddison if Leicester soften stance as window goes on. Particularly the bit about one to keep an eye on, and L being cornered as Tottenham look to take advantage of clubs who need money. ?

I just don’t know how you fit them both in the team as primarily they both play the same position. If you were looking at another RWF to replace Lucas say Zaniolo is not that player.

9 players in would be pretty mental, perhaps we've given up on bringing another CB after Bremer setback.

If it’s an either/or, I’d rather have Maddison too, but Zaniolo is the same age as Tanganga and a year older than Spence/Sessignon.

Playing at the level he is after a year out of the game whilst still developing is pretty remarkable.

If we do get him, hopefully he can kick on another year removed from his injury with an incredible coach who wants him in.

Considering Conte wants 2 players for each position then signing them both would make sense. There’s no point say trying 352 and for it to be a success only for the ‘1’ ACM to get injured. I know Kulu can potentially play there but it’s not his natural position and it would mean taking him away from his favoured position, a position that he’s flourished in so far

It shows a huge amount of mental strength to come back after two ACLs. Guys clearly has guts.

It will be interesting to see if Conte can fix Zaniolo's attitude problems. So far he's had attitude problems at every club (not sure about Fiorentina but it was rumored he had attitude problems when he was released) and it doesn't seem like Jose has helped him mature that much.
  • Our former Inter Primavera manager: "At times [Zaniolo] was satisfied with just doing the minimum but part of my role was to tell him that he must always go at a thousand miles per hour. There were a couple of situations where I left him out to make him understand that he had to put more effort in."
  • Paulo Fonseca: "I did not like Nicolò Zaniolo’s attitude. He did not help the team"
  • Francesco Totti: "I already spoke to Nicolò some time ago and gave him some advice, but I'm not sure if it sank in. If he does remain at Roma, he needs to understand the importance of this jersey so he can honour the fans who went above and beyond this season."
  • Fabio Capello: "He must beware of the people that surround him and must focus on himself throughout the year."
Jose tried really hard this season to protect Zaniolo from the media but don't think he's appreciated Zaniolo and his entourage twerking for Juve and Milan the last couple of months. And as people in Italy know, Zaniolo makes some questionable choices off the pitch and is often in the media for the wrong reasons.

Zabiolo has the potential to be world class. If it weren't for his injuries, he'd be well beyond our ability to sign.

It's a gamble with his ACLs, but I'd go for it all day.

Really nice post that unfortunately lost all credibility when the phrase twerking for was used.

Anyone get the feeling here that Zaniolo's Agent is using us to force Juventus into in the action.
I believe Zaniolo's preferred option is Juve.

That's what I think. Zaniolo was a childhood Juve fan. But I don't know if Juve has the money to satisfy Roma's demands. They've been trying to propose player swap deals for Zaniolo.

I admit I’m terrified of the likes of Bournemouth, Wolves, Palace, and West Ham next year. The orc-like anti football sides languishing in the relegation spots. The thing is, they should be a guaranteed 3 points but we’ve struggled to break teams down under Conte and it’ll only get tougher next season.

I hope this new fangled set piece specialist is a genius because without those X factor sort of goals, I have a feeling we’ll be coming away frustrated in a lot of those matches. We’ve made fun of Arsenal for signing light weight fancy-foot fairies, but the truth is all PL matches count for the same 3 points, and we need some playmaking in the side. I’m not confident in our ability to pass through low blocks and none of our wingbacks are good crossers, bar Perisic. Conte has his work cut out for him this year. Zaniolo is a beastly ball progressor and runner into space on the counter, put 2 or 3 defenders in front of him though and it’s a much different story.
Agree we need for technical wizard like players that would really make a difference. Also think our formation makes us quite predictable.

@Jet Fish does a good job of answering your question here. In general he does like an occasion and likes playing against big teams so you could say he is a big game player indeed. He does have a strong belief in his own ability which can cause him to overplay, be selfish at times and hang on to the ball to long. But on the flip side he will pull off moments of magic because his raw ability is very high. He’s also very inconsistent, which is common for a most young players.

The two factors to take in to consideration about this last season, firstly has been said 100 times already, it was his first back in a year and a half. This was never going to be a incredible season for him. Added to that his very rocky relationship with Jose, one really shouldn’t judge him too much on this last season.

Secondly, he is very much a diamond in the ruff and needs a lot of refinement. Essentially, he needs a very good coach. He has the raw ability but needs to improve his mentality, probably more so then his ability. You have to remember he has lost a year of growth which doesn’t always display physically. He is still far too tempestuous in his decision making. But with a good coach who will quiet his mind and help him focus, then he could be a beast. Assuming he gets over his injuries completely. It’s true tho, if you look back at his videos when 19, he has certainly lost some pace, he was a lot faster then. So who knows how he feels about his body and what he is capable of.

In essence, the challenge here will be just as much about focusing him mentally as it will be getting his fitness up. A big challenge for Conte, but I actually think if these two aspects can be worked on significantly, he’d be a very good fit for the PL.
Bang on!

If you had a choice between him and Maddison? If both were available of course.

Does this fit in with what Rob said 2/3 weeks ago about being excited with AM options with some players we wouldn’t have thought would be possible a year or 2 ago (pre ACL injuries) ?‍♂️
