Niko Kranjcar claims to be unaware of what the future holds for him at Tottenham, with a lack of communication leaving him in the dark.

The Croatia international has often found himself on the fringes of the first-team fold at White Hart Lane, leaving him frustrated and considering his options.

He finds himself in a similar situation this summer, with it unlikely that he will be a regular in 2012/13.

Spurs have been reluctant to part with his services in the past, with competition for places important, but Kranjcar may decide to force their hand.

He claims he has been given no indication by boss Harry Redknapp as to where he figures in his plans, if at all, and says he knows nothing of reports linking him with a move to Dynamo Kiev.

Contact

"I don't have any contact with my manager Harry Redknapp," Kranjcar told Sportske Novosti.

"When I was leaving London to head back home to Croatia, he didn't tell me anything about next season. So I don't really know if he is counting on me or not.

"A move to the Ukraine? I don't know. Nobody has told me about this.

"Maybe Tottenham are talking with Dynamo Kiev, I just don't know. I'm in the dark. Nobody has told me anything."

It does make you wonder about the man management at our club.

I hate to say this (as I will probably be hazed by the Redknapp loyalists), but I suspect his man management extends only so far as those players he sees an immediate use for

Ugh that article is indeed troubling. Sounds like you're frozen out if Harry doesn't see you as useful. Nico =/= triffic apparently.

Kranjcar confirms to the Croatian media that he will no longer be a Tottenham player and that he's headed to Dynamo Kiev. There was also an offer to join Bilic at Lokomotiv Moscow, but in the end he decided on Dynamo:

- The clubs have come to an agreement, there are a few small details to work out, and I need to clarify my terms. I'm not personally involved in that, as I'm fully focused on the national team, and I left that to those who represent me.

His man management has always been a strength and a weakness, most of his former players say he was a brilliant manager if you was in the first 11 but as soon as you were out of the first 11 he was terrible and he made them feel unwanted but if he needed you in the first 11 he make you feel like a million dollars again. "But thats Harry"

Goodbye Niko then it seems, thanks particularly for the contribution in his first season where his goals helped us to 4th place.

Always puzzled as to why he hasnt been given a chance in the VDV role when Rafa is injured/unavailable.

Just like Area 51, we will never ultimately know the truth although we can summise that he just wasn't that adept at the role in training.

Best of luck, Niko!

TBH this move comes a bit late. He deserves first team football.

It looks as if something happened at the start of the 2010-11 season that caused Harry to lose trust in Kranjcar, and one thing we can be pretty sure of is that if a player loses Harry's trust it's very hard for him to regain it. Ask Robbie Keane.

Is there any manager with whom this sort of thing doesn't happen? Why doesn't Ferguson use Berbatov, for example? Probably because he's realised Berbatov's a complete ****. And he's realised right.

C'mon SS57, football managers are not infallible.

Yes, Niko allegedly reported back for pre-season overweight in 2010-11 after suffering a bad ankle injury. That does not provide Redknapp with a reason largely to ignore him in season 2011-12.

Krancjar, Corluka, Pienaar and Gio are all regulars for their national side, and the first three are all PL-proven. If Redknapp had used them, when fit, on a rotation basis throughout the season, we would quite likely have picked up a couple more points in the spring.

Corluka and Pienaar only wanted loan moves in January because they were hardly ever picked, and frankly Niko and Gio must be regretting wasting another chunk of their footballing careers.

Niko is a good player, as Redknapp knows from having managed him twice. I wish him all the best wherever he ends up.

Oh, and whlist we're at it, Old Red Nose's refusal to use Berbatov is totally bizarre. If he wasn't going to use a £30 million player, he should have sold him last summer and reinvested the cash in a player he was going to stick in the team.

Even highly experienced football managers get it wrong sometimes.
