Very sad to see Niko go. Was a great pro and had some great performances in our first 4th place season.

No doubt in my mind we will see Kranjcar back in the PL or another top European league in the near future

I really like Niko, a player that oozed class even if he wasn't the hardest worker in the world.

Wish him well....he should of played more.

C'mon SS57, football managers are not infallible.

Yes, Niko allegedly reported back for pre-season overweight in 2010-11 after suffering a bad ankle injury. That does not provide Redknapp with a reason largely to ignore him in season 2011-12.

Krancjar, Corluka, Pienaar and Gio are all regulars for their national side, and the first three are all PL-proven. If Redknapp had used them, when fit, on a rotation basis throughout the season, we would quite likely have picked up a couple more points in the spring.

Corluka and Pienaar only wanted loan moves in January because they were hardly ever picked, and frankly Niko and Gio must be regretting wasting another chunk of their footballing careers.

Niko is a good player, as Redknapp knows from having managed him twice. I wish him all the best wherever he ends up.

Oh, and whlist we're at it, Old Red Nose's refusal to use Berbatov is totally bizarre. If he wasn't going to use a £30 million player, he should have sold him last summer and reinvested the cash in a player he was going to stick in the team.

Even highly experienced football managers get it wrong sometimes.

I didn't suggest he was. Even the best managers do weird things. I was only suggesting that Redknapp's no different from any other.

I can understand Robbie 'Sure, lads, and Harry'll never know a thing about it' Keane falling from grace after the 'golf weekend', and to an extent dos Santos' getting the cold shoulder; getting caught on camera whilst being poured into the back seat of a car isn't going to please any manager. Kranjcar, Corluka and Pienaar? Who knows?

Gutted to se that it looks like Niko is off, wonderfully gifted player who should have featured more, particularly in the VDV role. Wish him all the best, his goal against Citeh at the lane where he skinned 2 players (one being Adebayor IIRC) was magical

Niko is a very technically gifted player and I like the guy but the problem is that he is quite a way below the standard of the players playing the positions he can play in. If you played him instead of Bale on the left it'd be a huge loss in pace and crossing ability, if you played him instead of VDV you lose the work ethic the VDV provides as well as Kranjcar not being as good at any of the attacking parts that VDV has and if you played him instead of Modric in central midfield then you are asking for trouble. So it was always difficult for Redknapp to give him regular time and that makes Kranjcar's fitness issues even worse because he probably needs regular football to be sharp considering he isn't really an athletic guy.

I wish him well on his move and I'm sure he'll do well if he is given regular game time.

He is of course a very different player to Bale, but think he is a reasonable left midfield player - but Spurs would have to change the way they play without Bale, however Krancjar's best position in theory would be as a back up to VDV where I cannot recall Redknapp ever playing him. True VDV does a hell of a lot of other work which I agree Niko would struggle to do - but its one position where Spurs do not have any real cover other than Niko. Some will call for Gio, but whilst he may have the flair, he certainly has never demonstrated the work rate required - so I would not be persuaded. Kane in a year or two's time - maybe a good call. Mason (if he were ever to return to his Academy fitness and form) would be a shoe in - but fear it will never happen. Which leads us back to - we are letting go the best candidate to be VDV's back up and in a 50+ game season with VDV's hamstrings we need one.

Having said all that - wish Niko the best of luck in the future - although the article does say that there are still some items to agree (translation below) so goodbyes could be premature !

He's a very talented player that doesn't deserve to be a bench warmer. It's just a shame we didn't get to see him play more during his time here. I hope he tears it up over there and gets the playing time he deserves.

Looking on the positive side at least this means we might see some more signings. With Pienaar also looking like he might move back to Everton permanently.

Unless Bentley fights his way back into contention o_O

I hate to say this (as I will probably be hazed by the Redknapp loyalists), but I suspect his man management extends only so far as those players he sees an immediate use for

This has been confirmed by several players as to how Redknapp treats them.

Those in and around the first team are loved, those outside of it never even get to speak to Redknapp.

As with Harry's entire regime, it's an old school way of doing things, which when times are good works well, but when we're up against it a bit has a negative overall effect.

Like who? The only one I can think of is Alan Hutton

for a deal to be done so quick must mean that Dynamo offered a huge fee for him. I'm guessing 7m

I though both GdS and Bentley have both said as much. I'm pretty sure there's been some rumblings of this sort from some of the younger youth/loanee players - something about them being loaned out but not being told about not being in the first squad plans before this (rose perhaps?).

So your initial statement of 'This has been confirmed by several players as to how Redknapp treats them.'Those in and around the first team are loved, those outside of it never even get to speak to Redknapp.'....is not confirmed at all then?

Bentley actually did the opposite of what you accuse him of. Dos Santos himself has said himself he has a good relationship with Redknapp

Danny Rose has just complained about Harry's lack of rotation but certainly hasn't come out out and said he never gets to speak to Redknapp

I can only conclude by your inability to back up your claims by supplying no evidence is that you are making stuff up in the hope that people follow your anti-Harry agenda?

He was a useful player.

What gets to me is that people claim we have a strong squad but then think we need to play our 'strongest' side for every league match.

If the squad is that strong surely we could rotate a few players without our level dropping too much to beat most teams.

As for Redknapps comments about Pienaar not being able to get ahead of Bale who is one of the best left sided players in Europe. It's hardly going to motivate any young talent to join us as Bales understudy.
