I think the league is in decline. Players are preferring Germany or Spain these days.

Cause they are less demanding leagues? Better weather? Bit of a break at Crimbo? No 50% tax to pay? So many reasons not to come to the PL really lol.

My brother is a Liverpool fan and loves Ryan Babel, that is pretty much the best thing about us signing him.

Have we no ITKs? This seems to be the worst window for ITKs, ever. Really sad we have not attracted big name striker. Even with CL we still cant bring in players from the next level. Our only hope of success in the future now rests on us being taken over by rich Arabs, how sad.

Yep you're right. Otherwise we'll just have to settle for playing in the Champions Leauge.

How sad

How come?

Because success means winning, to win we must improve the squad. We have not got a chance of league or CL. City had no chance, now the have rich Arabs, they have a chance. If we had got Fab, young and Parker, we had a chance of getting out of CL group and top 4 and improving gradually year on year. I think after this window we will slip back.

Or the squad that saw off Citeh's last collection of transfers will see off their latest collection of transfers.

Our squad will have improved. It's called continuity, we have an excellent, young and settled squad that will continue to grow and improve together as a unit. It may not be as exciting as a big name signing, but it's just as vital.

If we stay clear of the injury crisis we had last year, our young players improve further and Gallas and Sandro fit in nicely then we will be stronger.

Stop being so pessimistic, Spurs fans should have so little to be pessimistic about, but reading SC today you'd think we were a club in crisis.

I say this setting myself up for a fall, but I have to say I'm baffled by our Transfer policy this summer.

We have a lot of deadwood at the club e.g. Alan Hutton. Please note I could add another 10-12 names to that list, but I'm not here to spark a player debate.

Why are we with one day to go still haggling for players? Why haven't we sold some of the deadwood to create funds?

I really think it's blown up in Levy's face as clubs just aren't prepared to sell on the cheap and he's not prepared to spend big as no funds have come in as yet. I'm a huge Levy supporter and I know the economic climate is hugely responsible, but I would have wanted a settled squad by now.

Another thing that worries me after reading some of Harry's comments regarding Sandro is it appears he hardly knows or wanted to sign the player. Bad news if that's the case.
Pretty obviously no one's interested unless we're virtually giving them away.

Taarabt, who cost 2.5m, we could only get an initial 600k. Proportionately, that means a lot of the players we want to sell would only attract interest at 2-3m.
