Well in recent years we have had a "Welsh Wayne Rooney" (Scott Thyer) and an "Irish Wayne Rooney" (Terry Dixon), so we might as well give a go to a Scottish one...

Was watching the youth cup final or something the other day and he was playing, looked decent, fairly quick, strong and composed, but we already have a lot of young strikers don't we? Barcham, Pekhart, Hamed, Dawkins and Olsen? Surely we should let some of these go if they're not up to task. Having to many young strikers could stunt each others development.

Yeah definately is Robert Fleck's nephew btw, me and my mates (norwich fans) were like :lol: if he's anywhere near as good as his uncle was for Norwich, sign him up.

We do have a lot of young strikers, but Barcham's 21 now and will probably leave for a Championship or League 1 club in the summer IMO, Olsen has failed to impress, largely because of injuries, Pekhart hasn't exactly been on fire for the reserves, Dawkins I don't really know much about, and isn't Hamed the one who had a heart failure and needed massive rehabilitation?

Fleck would shine amongst that sort of competition.

McGeady might play for Ireland, but he certainly ain't Irish. Born, raised, educated and developed as a footballer in Scotland. Plus his parents are Scottish. The grandparent rule is daft, in my opinion. Having said that, I wouldn't want someone playing for Scotland who doesn't consider themselves Scottish.

The same applies to young James McCarthy, who all the top sides are after. He was on trial at Liverpool and Benitez compared him to Steven Gerrard.
