Tottenham head coach Nuno Espirito Santo says his “biggest concern” in football is the ever-increasing amount of matches and joked that just looking at the current schedule makes him feel “exhausted”.

Slave Cup 2022 qualifying just exacerbates an already hectic schedule.

Honestly, I wouldn't shed a tear if international football stopped completely, or maybe having only the World Cup, but every 5 years.

It'll never happen though, nope instead they are thinking of having a WC every 2 years because $$$$$$

I support Nuno and hope it works out for him, but stop whinging and get on the front foot. Whether he likes it or not, the schedule is packed and he has to manage it. Likewise, you're at a high profile premier league club, so stop treating media duties like a chore. It's part of the job.

To dare is to do he said in his opening interview. And now he's exhausted. Even if he's being glib, just get on with it and show more energy and intent than the shitshow we watched today

Sorry but we need trophies and these are probably our best chances
That's been a near interesting debate over the years, but it was settled last season.
So lowly does Levy rate the league cup, he'll sack a manager the week before.
We should withdraw as soon as possible, as a final would be a real treat for fans in the lower divisions, and we should leave them to it.

Evidently too exhausted to even think about making a substitute yesterday!

The thing that I love about the WC and this is coming from someone who lives in a non football dominate country is that it only happens ever 4 years. Most players only get 1-2 shots at it in their career and you can tell just how much it truly means to every player. For me the best part is watching the players sing the national anthems and you can see just what it means to every player. If you make it every 2 years they will take away what truly makes it special, much like the olympics doesn't happen often. If the Olympics was every year we would all get bored and move on from it because it loses what makes it special same with the WC

It could also be argued that club football has only become superior to international football because of money. The wealthiest teams / leagues sign the best players from all over the world, at the detriment of others, and fans pay over the odds (compared to other sports) to watch them. If this hadn't been the case for several decades, international football would be held in far higher regard than it currently is, as it would be the only occasion anyone gets to witness the top players in the world all in one competition (World Cup).

It also amuses me that so many fans complain about footballers prioritising country over club (as it's the club paying their wages), but at the same time think players shouldn't be paid for international matches (representing their country should be an honour, so financial reward is unnecessary).

World Cup every two years is just dumb though. I'm confident Wenger wouldn't be pushing for it if he was still competing for titles in club football.

If Nuno can feel exhausted just looking at the schedule, perhaps the players are justified to feel lethargic having to play.:)
