I almost wet mine lol! Dunno whether that was because I was so excited or because I'm getting on a bit or both, could be a lethal combination...

Shame it wasn't much of a contest in the end, but all 5 goals were crafted really well. Good to get a game under our belts before Monday though.

Hopefully that's how we're going to play in the prem. Have a niggling feeling it could be like when we beat Norwich 5-0 in pre-season and then started the prem with 2 points from 8. Tough start we have. Hopefully brings out the best in us.

Was Dave Mackay wheeled out at half-time? I'd nipped out to get a fresh beer while the ads were on at the start of half-time and thought I glimpsed him as I came back in.

Only Hearts but can anyone remember a better performance then that in Redknapps time? I can only think of the 5-1 away against Hull, away in Milan and at home to Inter. Anyone think of any others?

For me the biggest plus was Livermore, Walker and Townsend.

I think they have demonstrated that they are good enough to make the squad so moving on the likes of Jenas/Palacios, Hutton and Bentley will leave us no worse off.

Should save a small fortune in wages too (at least in the short term).

I knew Dave pretty well back in the 60s and he didn't look too well to me, just a shadow of his former self sadly. I believe his memory is fading somewhat too now.

How sad would it be if he didn't remember those Glory, Glory Days... if it could happen to a man with a razor-sharp mind like Danny Blanchflower, it can happen to anyone.

Injuries

Pre-season is supposed to be the time where we get all of our players back to full fitness, ready to go for the new campaign.

Yet, we somehow go into our first match with nine injured players in the squad. I don't know what it is about this club and this unwaivering curse of players picking up constant injuries.
see my comment in the chat room!

A Jambo friend on facebook says they are all looking forward to coming down here and intend to party and make a lot of noise. Good for them I reckon! :)
