I have never held the slightest degree of genuine confidence or Spurs-related optimism that wasn't swiftly and severely punished by the football gods. I am quite sure we will lose tomorrow. It's our only chance of winning.

I think any confidence I have will evaporate if Vorm starts ahead of Lloris.
I know Lloris is one of the best keepers in the world, but I don't get where this mentality comes from? Vorm is a Dutch international that is more than proven in this league as well as Europe. Sure, he isn't one of the top 5 keepers in the world, but it's not like last season when we had to stick Friedel in there. Everytime he's played for us he has done very well and had a couple world class saves as well. He has one bad moment vs Leicester (and much like Naughton at LB) it seems like everyone thinks of that when they judge him.

We have to get the first goal in this game if we are going to win. I know we allowed them score first at WHL, but the mentality of the squad isn't at its strongest right now after three successive poor games and a lack of goal scoring match winners in the side. That's ultimately the big difference between them and us. We have Eriksen, Kane and to a lesser extent Chadli who can pop up with goals, and they have Hazard, Costa, Oscar, Cuadrado, and Fabregas who can all single-handedly win the match for them, as well as other options like Willian, Remy, and attacking fullbacks that can stretch the game for them if they get desperate late. Our bench is weak, and Poch's hands will be tied if we're trying to chase this game.

I'll probably get neg repped to shit for this, but I can't see us winning, 2-0 Chelsea, I even have an ounce of trepidation about the game.

I want to see us win, I really do!! But I just can't see it happening, the times I believe we can do something Tottenham always seem to fuck it up somehow. I'm sorry for being such a pessimist.

On the flip side, we have a good young squad with some superb individuals who actually seem to be buying into our manager, whatever the result today the future is bright for our great club!

COYFS!!!!

It's not so much that I don't rate Vorm, but more to do with what I think is going to be a close game. We'll need every advantage we can get if we're going to get a result today, so I'd feel significantly more confident if we don't leave our one genuinely world class player on the bench.
