Tottenham are eyeing a £6million move for Belgium World Cup goal hero Divock Origi.
Spurs scouts have been keeping an eye on Origi for the past season at French side Lille and the Londoners are now keen on the 19-year-old.

Origi scored the late winner against Russia that secured Belgium's place in the knockout phase of Brazil 2014 after being a surprise inclusion in their squad as a back-up to Romelu Lukaku.

Boss Marc Wilmots turned to Origi after Christian Benteke's injury and believes he is a big prospect for the future.

Origi came on for Lukaku and played the final 32 minutes of Belgium's victory over Algeria in their World Cup opener, and got the only goal of the Russia match having been again given the last half-hour as a sub.

New Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is likely to shake up his strike-force, with doubts over the futures of both Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado.

Lille are reluctant to sell Origi, who has also been watched by Spanish giants Real Madrid, but they may be tempted by the right offer

"Mirror" is right. The essence of this story is as simple as them reflecting the excitement of that goal in the stadium onto somebody's phone and texted to the rag's editor. Jesus this has to be a new record, and for all the wrong reasons.

It could be worse, we could've been linked with John O'Shea.

That was written far too quickly to be considered credible

Oh that and it's from the Mirror...

If you linked us to every professional player in the game then surely one of them will sign.

oh wait....

I still maintain that the O'Shea story was just a different approach to get the same result as a story like this one for Origi is.

These papers want web traffic......linking the player who was unknown to the vast majority of people but just did something of significance (like for example Origi scoring the goal for Belgium) will get some people to click and read the story.

Likewise people will click and read the O'Shea story because any reasonable supporter of Spurs first thought would be "O'Shea? Which O'Shea are we looking at?....can't be John O'Shea he is well and truly past it now. For fuck sake it is John O'Shea....i better read this to understand why the hell we are looking at John O'Shea"

@TonyBarretTimes: Liverpool are closing in on a deal for Belgium international Divock Origi. Spurs are also interested but Liverpool lead the race.
