Why is he always coming into midfield?

Because the ball is never going directly to him. Because we pass into space down the wings. And that is not where our strikers operate.

Keano was scoring for fun on loan. He knows where the goal is. Our midfield simply does not know/care where he is.

oh ffs you are relentless in your stupidity, for a start Keano was playing for Celtic in Scotland so them goals mean fuck all or are you suggesting the SPL is as competative as the EPL and Celtics midfield is better than ours

we go through the middle plenty with Modric and VDV it's just we don't have a striker on their wave length. Look at the little flick by VDV to set Defoe up with a sitter which he bottled.

Barcelona, Man U, Chelsea all want Modric but yet you think he's no better than fecking Malbranque. Says it all really.

So explain how Bent also failed to finish off with Modders, Hudd, Lennon and Bale (albeit at LB).

It's a real problem, we have strikers that thrive on through balls down the middle, and we are pulling them every way but forwards.

I'm so glad you mentioned Bent, purely because it gives me the opportunity to mention to you the fact that, in the season in which Modric and Bent played together, Modric was in fact our top assister with 9 assists, which is only two short of Van Persie that season, Van Persie having topped the assist chart. Do you know where Modric played that season? He either played on the wing or in the hole, two positions where one would rightly expect a player to get assists. Modric now plays in the very centre of the pitch in a role which is about far more than providing the final pass.

As for the midfield as a whole, you do know that we have actually put more balls into the box than every other side this season, right? Stone cold fact. Bale leads the way as the player who has put the ball into the box the most this season. Either we have absolutely dreadful delivery constantly, never managing anything good, or our strikers have not been very good at competing with centre backs.

I'm sure you'll find some kind of alternate reason for this, one which makes no sense whatsoever and continues to demonstrate your absolute lack of any footballing understanding whatsoever, but I don't really care. I don't need to point out that almost everything you ever say is wrong, it's way too fucking obvious already.

I wish someone would assist you.

Why are people ignoring the fact that Defoe was top of the scoring charts in Dec of our CL winning season. And went on a drought when Modric and Hudd came back into operation?

It's about shit strikers right? So why do people ignore people like Bent scoring with a different (and on paper worse) midfield?

And why do people ignore that Crouch gives VDV his goal scoring opps more than the midfield COMBINED?

These shit strikers are the assist makers. Defoe gave Lennon the assist on the weekend. If that didn't happen, we would be Level with Malbs and co.

Crouch gives VDV his assists. Think about it.

I mean VDV started a move, and finished it. He had to take it into his OWN HANDS to be involved in one of HIS GOALS.

Of course! Today I already mentioned our midfield is excellent, I just think it needs a new shape to be more productive up front. I even mentioned I hope HR puts Modric on the left when Bale is out. back under Ramos, the first half of the season he was poor. Record breaking bad with Modric in the middle/hole. He had about 2 assists by Dec.

HR put him on the left, and it was a goal/assist fest.

So I am puzzled by your "opportunity", because you are apeing what I already said.

And proving

MY

ENTIRE

POINT

Malbranque is one point behind us.

With 20 million burning a hole in their pocket.

Go and look at Modrics passing diagrams. It proves my point that the majority of his passes are sideways or backwards.

His stats are great, but they are going in the wrong direction.

There has not been a single inquiry by any of these teams.

no Sunderland are 1 point behind us unless Malbranque became a football club recently without me knowing

I don't need to look at passing diagrams and stats to judge a player and I very much doubt Harry, Guardiola, Fergie or Ancelotti do either who all think he's world class

I'll leave the stats and passing diagrams to you. You ruin this forum with the endless shite you come out with.

Malbs has played more games than Modric this season. And if you want to go hyper literal claiming I said he was a football club, then accuse me of coming up with constant shite?

So a diagram.

Which shows every pass Modric makes.

And shows him predominantly passing to the wings or backwards.

Is endless shite?

A couple of weeks ago: Barca chief Manuel Estiarte told Jutarnji List: "Luka has always been liked by Pep (Guardiola), we know him very well"

I'm just giving an example of someone who knows a thing or two about what makes a great midfielder having a soft spot for Luka, I have no idea if they've bid or not.

You missed the end of the quote BBLG

You wanna finish that quote off?

"Luka has always been liked by Pep (Guardiola), we know him very well. But I repeat that it is very difficult to play in Barcelona today. We have eight world champions in our personnel."

That part wasn't relevant as I wasn't talking about the 'who is interested in Modric' issue, I have made no contribution to that debate. I was just providing evidence that someone who, unlike you, is not a complete moron thinks highly of the little guy. The rest of the quote doesn't change that fact.

Oh, and I repeat, you are a complete moron.

big clubs frequently use the media to tap up players and wait to see how the player reacts

in Modric case after each story appeared he came out with one of his own stating he didn't want to leave Tottenham and was very happy here

The very fact that all these guys are bringing Modric up in interviews and stating their admiration for him shows they're interested but Modric nips it in the bud each time

there's no point making a bid for a player who has stated he don't want to leave his current club after you've attempted to tap him up
