Some on these boards are starting to sound like Chelscummers--if he don't cost a billion pounds than he's not good enough. We should be looking for quality and potential, not greedy CL obsessed mercenaries--who aren't going to come anyway because we are currently in the bottom half of the league table and play in the UEFA Cup next year...

*apologies for the outburst. [:beer:]

Capel or Kranjcar please. We missed the boat on Young he wanted to come, but we refused to be held to ransom.
I guess if you want to be a Big club sometimes you have to accept being held to ransom i.e Carrick to UTD

would absolutely love to get Kranjcar, but not for the left wing. Just the right kind of player for the middle of the park. would be great with huddlestone. and someone who can actually take a free-kick.

We definitely should have signed Young if we had the chance, can play on either wing and has great delivery. But if i'm honest I hadn't seen much of him at Watford at what I did see wasn't too impressive. However at Villa he seems to have really excelled and is one of their best players now.

Bale if he stays fit. Problem is he probably won't. Unless he dramatically improves his defensive skills he's still more of a Left mid for me. He plays more of a wingabck role for Wales though doesn't he? What i've seen of him defensively so far is he needs more experience back there at top level. Well he's not going to get that if he's on bloody crutches.

Not sure if this was posted somewhere else but this was a new name (for me at least) to add to the left wing melting pot: Danijel Pranjic.

http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_3368979,00.html
Tottenham are reportedly lining up a move for Croatia wide-man Danijel Pranjic.
The 26-year-old currently plays for Dutch side Heerenveen, and has scored six goals so far this season.
Spurs are on the lookout for left-sided options after missing out on Middlesbrough's Stewart Downing in January.
Pranjic could be the man Juande Ramos turns to after his scouting team brought back glowing reports about the winger, who played in Croatia's 3-2 win over England at Wembley.
Pranjic has nine caps to his name but has only recently become a regular under Slaven Bilic - who looks set to use him a wing-back in order to utilise his attacking abilities from a deep position.
A White Hart Lane delegation travelled to the recent Croatia-Scotland clash as Ramos was keen to see the player in a British-style match and Pranjic impressed as he went up against current Spurs ace Alan Hutton.
Now Croatian media reports claim Spurs have made contact with Heerenveen about concluding a deal for the end of the season.
However, with Pranjic ready to feature at the Euro 2008 finals, the Dutch club are looking to keep him until later in the summer when his stock could very well rise if he performs well in Austria and Switzerland.
Weekend reports also saw Spurs linked with a renewed interest in Middlesbrough's Adam Johnson.
With Downing signing a new deal on Teesside, Spurs could try again for his understudy, whose chances at The Riverside are severely hampered by the presence of the England star.

Any views team?
